Thanks to a friend's referral we booked The Siam. It's a truly unique hotel both for it's grounds which are right on the river, lobby and special rooms. The water taxi and the Siam's own boat will take you up the river to many desired...More
When we arrived at The Siam we were mesmerized by the art deco type of interior design and architecture of the hotel. We were warmly received by our butler Sumet. Sumet made sure that we would get the best service for our entire stay. The...More

“An urban luxury resort” is the perfect description for this riverfront property designed by world renowned architect Bill Bensley. Also a perfect location to explore some of the key monuments in Bangkok, that can be easily reach using longtail boats (the property has its own...More
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit
seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.

Your 5 year old may enjoy walking with you in the hotel gardens outside and the atrium inside enjoying the many decorative features, if your 5 year old enjoys that sort of thing. Definitely your 5 year old will enjoy the boat ride along the river into parts of the city you may visit. The hotel's boat taxis you to and from any destination along the river.
There is butler service and I don't know if there is any limitation on the hours of food service, but if there are extended hours for food service, your butler would provide for you.
Our experience is that the hotel provided for a variety of international guests.
