We stayed for 4 nights and everything was perfect. Room was large and clean. Bathroom just had a shower and no bath but that was good as no water flowed over the floor like most hotels do. Rooms had tea coffee making facilities also. Our room was on the 20th floor and had an amazing view. At night it was...

I stayed a week at the GCP and found it to be a very pleasant stay. The rooms were spacious & clean with nice sized bathrooms, room safes, and a very courteous staff. We ate in the restaurant several times and never had a bad meal. I never had any problem with transportation, just take several of the hotel business...

I always stay in this hotel and they always give excellent service. A service with a smile! The rates are very affordable and it comes with free buffet breakfast. The breakfast itself is worth the price of the hotel. It has american style bacon eggs and the like plus Chinese style fare like congee with all the trimmings I (i...

I've stayed at the Grand China Princess about 6 or so times and really like it. Great location smack in the middle of China Town (important in Bangkok), easy access to computers. Front staff were helpful. Post office across the street. The rooms are nothing special (good standard rooms but a bit bigger than usual). I'm over the 5 stars...

I don't know where the positive reviews came from but this is hotel is abysmal. We booked online with Agoda for a 2 night stay in a De Luxe room What we got was far off from that description. No resemblance to the photos advertised. Dirty fingerprints and dust on all doors- wardrobes, bathroom doors etc Filthy, thick layer of...

We loved this hotel, it's quite hard to find and when you step inside it's half shopping mall half hotel. The bar on the ground floor is great for watching the madness unfold on the crossroads outside and wonder how no one ever hits anyone else! If you ask for a smoking room you should get a room with a...

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights after spending time in Patong. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms very spacious and very clean. Upon entering, the hotel is very well presented and the staff very friendly. There were always cabs and tuk tuks out the front and it was only 150 baht to places like...

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
