A top hotel in Bangkok and around the world. The energy and people is unique. Always best service. The spa must be the best in the world. The hotel is getting little old compared to many new 6 stars hotel, but you can never find the energy and people here.

Well deserved reputation as one of the very few top hotels in the world. If you are looking for the epitome of luxury, service, location, and physical plant, this is the hotel you want in Bangkok. We enjoyed great meals at all the on-site restaurants. Daily breakfast buffet on the river is a real treat. The High Tea is as...

I have looked at staying at this hotel a few times, but always flinched at the price. It is more expensive than a number of other 5 star hotels in Bangkok. We stayed here though this time and WOW, it was just amazing. We loved everything from the room, exceptional service, the Bamboo Bar (which was like being in a...

Over years of travel this is one of the most luxurious and beautiful hotels I have stayed in. I have been here twice 10 years apart and each time the experience is more special. The setting makes you feel like you are on an island even though you are in the centre of Bangkok. The Spa is also possibly the...

The MO BKK has a style and grace which is special in the MO portfolio and eludes most luxury hotels. The renovations to the two wings, Le Normandie restaurant, Bamboo bar, Spa and new Ciao Italian restaurant on the waterside are all welcome improvements to the Grand Dame. Service remains impeccable as ever. Somewhere I hope will continue to feel...

Nothing compares to this hotel. It manages to combine unrivalled service with a touch of history. We stayed only one night, which was too short a time. The Shangri La, next door, comes close in terms of comfort and has slightly bigger rooms, but the Oriental beats it for the sheer brilliance of the experience of staying there.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
