The Oakwood Hotel & Residence Bangkok garners compliments for its affordable and comfortable rooms, complete with appreciated amenities. However, opinions are mixed regarding the room cleanliness and size. Guests laud the hotel's inviting atmosphere and stylish decor, albeit with occasional room quality variances.
Its prime location is celebrated for easy access to the BTS Skytrain and local attractions. The service is predominantly recognized as friendly, despite isolated housekeeping and staff issues. Really liked the whole hotel and stay when I was there a month ago. The property was located 3 minutes away on foot from the Saphan Taksin BTS Skytrain Station which was very convenient and cost effective as well. The rooms are more than what you’d expect for the affordable prices and the beds are quite comfortable, making this a very good option to look into if you’re planning on staying in Bangkok for a long time or are traveling with many people and need a reliable location to base yourself out of without breaking the bank and still not compromising on the quality of the stay. The rooms are well furnished and have a kitchenette as well and the bathroom is large and well-equipped too. I had dinner at their Treat restaurant and the staff was accommodating and alert at all times. I really liked the food I tried which was a mix of International and Thai cuisines. They serve many desi dishes as well if you are traveling from South Asia and want to dine within the hotel. The curries and rotis were authentically prepared and they had good vegetarian options as well. The Thai curry was flavourful as well and the seafood items were fresh and delicious too! The pool area is comparatively smaller but still good for a quick swim and the city view from the room is great.

I stay in a deluxe room with a pool view for 3D2N for my staycation. The room has a complete set of amenities, 4 coffee capsules for free, clean, comfortable and functional. I love the pool very much, 2 m. depth, not every hotel in Bangkok like this(maybe a safety issue but I still love it!). The breakfast was ok. The location is best of the best , you can connect to publish transportation by 5 mins walking to BTS or 7 mins walking Choa praya boat. Not far from the hotel (10 mins walk) have a convenient mall, you can buy local gifts/food/things very easy. Overall is pleasant.

I had the pleasure of staying at this property and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. The soundproofing was fantastic, blocking out any noises from the BTS as well as the busy road. I also appreciated the ability to open the windows and let in fresh air. The check-in staff and bellman were very friendly, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
However, the rooms were quite small and compact. There were only a few hangers available outside the bathroom to hang clothing, and the limited space in the room will make it difficult to move around for anyone that has more than one guest.
Additionally, the housekeeping staff had limited proficiency in English, which made it difficult to communicate my desire to purchase Nespresso capsules. Speaking of which, the Nespresso machine provided in the room was broken, and since guests had to pay for the coffee capsules, I think this issue may have gone unnoticed. I conveyed these concerns to the front desk and got it resolved in no time.
It is important to note that the hotel is located on a congested road, which may cause delays if you are taking a taxi to the airport, or even to the city, at any point during the day. However, based on my experience, past midnight seemed to be an exception to this. Plan accordingly and give yourself extra time to avoid any potential transportation issues.

We reached the hotel at 2.35pm and was alloted room at 4.15pm, when the checkin time is 2pm on 15th June.
The ladies at the reception were very arrogant and totally unresponsive towards us.
We were very hungry and we went to the restaurant but almost nothing was available except for some indian thali and fried rice. We opted for fried rice but it was the worst chicken fried rice we had in Thailand.
Finally when I went to the reception and was asked to wait, I wanted to see the General Manager as it was already past 4pm & the reception lady almost immediately alloted a room but bluntly refused to let me meet GM.
Then we went to the room and it was so small that we felt that it was of the size of the Bathrooms of our previous hotels.
Good thing the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The washroom though small was crisp as well.
The door man was one staff that was outstanding, who was always ready to help and assist.
Rest even the restaurant staff also looked at the guests with a way as if they are doing a favour by serving.
Dear Mr/Ms General Manager, we know you are busy, but still please make yourself available at the Lobby during busy hours so that you can sort out the issues. Nothing personal though.

Responded 27 Jun 2022
Dear Guest, Warm Greetings! We thank you for choosing us as the preferred option for accommodation while in Bangkok. At the onset, we would like to humbly apologize for the inconvenience and assure you that this is very unlikely our service standards. This was a one off scenario wherein we had an operational break down and failed to meet our guests expectations. We all are human beings and at times we do fall apart. This was one of those days when things went wrong. However, please allow me to share the details of the corrective measures that has been taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur again. The lady at the reception did not intend not to allow you to meet the General Manager but actually could not communicate with you that I was very much available at the hotel, in the lobby meeting other guests at the same time. This is a communication GAP and is being rectified by regular training programs being conducted on how to maintain an effective communication system. The restaurant menu has 42 Thai dishes, 06 Options for sandwiches and burgers, Pasta with a mix of various sauces, Indian Thali with Veg and Non Veg options and 10 A la carte menu options as well in Indian cuisine. The taste of our food is highly appreciated by most of the guests but I do understand that it failed to meet your expectations and we again apologize for the same as well. The room that you had booked for was a Superior room, a 20 square meter room which is well described in the booking platform that you have booked through. There are other room types available as well which you can opt for. As I said earlier, we accept where we have lacked and assure you that we have effectively implemented measures to ensure that such cases do not happen again. My humble request to you is to visit us again and we assure you that we shall turn around your experience with our hospitality. We look forward to seeing you again. With Warm Regards, Kaustubh Sur General Manager

Arriving at the hotel tired from a delayed flight, I was checked-in and they advised that they only accepted a cash deposit instead of a credit card for incidentals. Strange but I guess that is Expedia’s fault for listing out credit cards are accepted? My friend/colleague did specify for a 2 twin bed but this was not prepared in advanced despite making the booking a month ago…
The room and bathroom is decent but I would not recommend if you’re a business traveller or if you just want a good night’s sleep after a day from your activities.
1) paper-thin walls. I say paper thin because I could hear EVERYTHING, from the next room’s tv to everyone coming/going outside talking and opening/closing their doors. The windows are not exactly sound proof either so it wasn’t fun hearing sirens in the middle of the night. I was lucky to even get 4 hours of sleep.
2) hard hard mattresses. The pillows were soft but the mattress were not comfortable at all. If you have back or neck problems…you’ll suffer.
Breakfast although not included but was decent. I was expecting more Thai breakfast food options but it’s enough to keep your hunger at bay. Breakfast staff were nice too…hence why I’m giving it the 2 stars

Dear Guest, Warm Greetings! At the onset we thank you for choosing us as the preferred option for accommodation while in Bangkok. However, we have made a note of the concerns raised at your end and assure you that corrective measures are being taken accordingly. Sound protection rubber grips have been installed for the rooms already to address the concern raised in point 1. Regarding the mattress, we do have softeners available for all the rooms and the same can be added further based on additional request. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and request you to provide us another opportunity to serve you again and we can assure you that we shall be able to exceed your expectations. Thank you and have a great day ahead, With Warm Regards, Kaustubh Sur General Manager

Four of us, had booked this for our business trip.
The stay was really amazing, the hotel manager Kaustubh, lucky for us, curated the breakfast to match our Indian pallet.
The rooms and whole property is extremely well managed and sanitised frequently. Hygiene and appropriate CoVid protocols were followed all through our stay.
From the staff to Kaustubh, all of them were 24*7 available for anything that we needed.
I would highly recommend this hotel to be your preferred stay at BKK purely because of the staff and the support from the Hotel Manager.

Travelled with an infant and she unfortunately spilled a drop of choclate on bedsheet. the hotel charged 500 baht to wash the bedsheet seperately which was unexpected. Other than this it was a pleasant stay. Very clean but very very small rooms. no wardrobe. no place to keep the luggage. felt very congested. amenities are top notch. maintainance is very good. Restaurant is well maintained, buffet breakfast is very good with some indian dishes as well.. the 1 star is because of bad experience. stay and location wise hotel is good. rooms could have been bigger considering the category of hotel. Security deposit of 1000 baht is compulsory which is refundable.

Hotel is easy to find and accessible to the shopping mall and BTS nearby. Things are very clean, new and modern as well.
Staff are friendly, professional and made me feel well settled. There is also a laundry and dryer service in the hotel which fit our needs.
We also received a welcome drink when we just arrived the hotel on our first day which other branded hotels stop providing to save cost.
Thanks to KS and the team for making my stay here in Bangkok enjoyable. All of them made the extra effort. Highly recommend and will definitely come back here again.

My family came for about a 4-day visit as I live right next door to the hotel and wanted to try it out for our convenience .
The staff is the best part about the hotel - K. Rain was so polite every time we saw her, happily assisting us with any issues we had !
K. Montree always had a smile on his face and gave some great recommendations around town .
The hotel is at a convenient location , clean & quiet rooms . (Although housekeeping did not thoroughly clean the rooms each time, we had to keep requesting for refills on shampoo/ clean the bathtub - this was the only small issue) Any other issues we had were easily and quickly solved by the team . It’s a cozy , decorated small hotel and I would definitely suggest booking here without hesitation!

Not recommend for business or long stay. Maybe just a night stay.
I stayed for 5 nights for work at the hotel.
When I arrived the hotel, the doorman helped me with the bags and brought them to the lobby. However the reception did not recognised me until I needed to ask them if I can check in now? There was a lady that came after me and got served before me too.
I booked one bedroom suite. The room was ok with microwave, sink and full-size fridge. However there were no plates or utensils or dish washer.
The shower are in the bathtub (not seperate) which would be ok if there is no space between the bathtub and the wall so water is there and move on the bathroom floor. There is very small wall to prevent the water to the sink but not the floor. You will always have your bathroom floor all wet whenever you shower.
Warm water was not stable and difficult to adjust. You could get burned and frozen every 30 seconds.
Bed is ok. I like the pillows.
Breakfast was too pricy. Starting from THB 250++ per person for normal American breakfast set.
Gym is very small so dont expect this. I think it fits only one person.
