Simple and clear: do no stay at this hotel unless you are Indian! This hotel hosts Indian people, so travelers from elsewhere will feel intimidated. There are far better options around in this area of Bangkok than this hotel.

I always love coming to Bangkok and was very happy to get a room close to the Sky Train and in a busy neighbourhood. The check in was easy and did not take as long as people moaned about here on Trip Advisor. We were there for no more than 10 mins and it was a very easy check in...

Miscommunication between the reception and sales staff. There was no coordination for the early and late arrived clients at the hotel and had to wait for long hours before check-in. Also the bill payments process was chaotic. Might be good for individual/ family stay.

The best thing about Ambassador hotel is its location, on Sukhumvit Road, which is very famous for its restaurants, malls and roadside rides in side alleys. Hotel has 02 wings and I stayed in Tower wing which is newer than the main wings and seems more clean and spacious. Lobby is large with seating area, overall hotel gives you a...

This is a standard city hotel but can't complain as it's very cheap to stay here , The hotel itself is a little dated but for a 2 night stay it's fine if your in a budget. Rooms (Main Wing) are small, low lit and very basic (shower only) Not great views of Bangkok you expect our view was a...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Hi everyone, our family has been staying at Ambassador Hotel on our annual Bangkok Vacation for the last 15 years and we love it as it feels like home and the area is just unbeatable!

The last time I went there was in April 2014 and on this trip we noticed the hotel has fallen a few steps back from what it was compared to 2013. A few things I would like to know :

1. The A/C in the Reception area used to be really good and refreshing to walk into after a full day of shopping but in 2014 the A/C was literally non existent, so what I want to know is - was it temporary or is it still the same ?

How about the A/C in the Tower Wing Ground floor lift area (near the fish tanks ?) and in the AM Cafe. We usually hang around these areas hence the concern.

2. We always stay in the Tower Wing and have found that the Rooms and Washrooms were quite good (no foul smell, cockroaches etc) is the standard still the same in the tower wing?

The house keeping in the tower wing used to do an awesome job cleaning the rooms, how is it now ?

3. Is the hotel still happening like it used to be ? One plus point for this hotel used to be that it was never boring (people always in the lobby area etc).

These questions might be weird to some but this year we will be spending around 17 days during the Christmas and new year season in Bangkok and can't let anything spoil our holiday as it is a very special one this year! if the hotel has really gone down we might have to look for a replacement hotel - sadly :(

Thanks,

Jamie - Sri Lanka.
