My second visit here and can't fault anything. Arrived way before normal check in time and was pleasantly surprised that the receptionist found me a room, rather than having to wait for 3 hours. Very welcome after a long flight. Only 3-4 minutes walk from Nana BTS station to easy and quick to reach to and from Airport at very...

This was the dirtiest and nastiest hotel I ever stayed in. I'm from the US but clean is clean worldwide and this hotel is not clean. We left after one night, even though we were booked for 4. That's how nasty it is.

The hotel location is great as it is only a block away from NANA BTS Station, which is near Terminal 21 Shopping Centre. The hotel itself is average as it is somewhat old. The service was good, and the rooms were okay. They were quite small, but it was okay as we were always outside anyway. They had quite a...

This hotel is a good option when you need a quick and easy access to the Airport because of its proximity to the Airport link. The hotel is huge and has a old school feel to it. The lobby has huge aquariums filled with tropical fish and an in house restaurant as well.My room was very spacious and had a...

Actually, it has a 5-star lobby and a 4-star restaurant, but the rooms are average to below average! My group of 30 and I stayed here for two nights in January. I was disappointed in my room. AC was poor and could not cool off the room. Check-in was quick and efficient! Staff was very helpful and courteous. Not worth...

This hotel looks like it was designed 50% a 2star designer and 50% 5 star designer. I actually didn't have any major problems like many have mentioned here. However. Everywhere you turn it's average. Located in a phenomenally central location in soi 11, the photos show a big and bold hotel. However as people have mentioned the hotel is aging,...

I believe this used to be a great hotel in the past but has lost its luster. My standard room in main section was small, tiny bath, unattractive, poor wifi, with small screen old tv. Almost all guests are Indians. Reception staff seem indifferent. Breakfast was great. Lobby was clean. Hallways were spacious. Location is excellent. Lots of massage places.

My wife & I stayed at this hotel from 29th to 2nd January, 2017. The hotel offers good breakfast but the rooms don't have balconies. One of the guys (as far i remember, named Stiffen) from reception helped us a lot to change our room, as we were staying on the 7th floor near to the bird cage which was...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Hi everyone, our family has been staying at Ambassador Hotel on our annual Bangkok Vacation for the last 15 years and we love it as it feels like home and the area is just unbeatable!

The last time I went there was in April 2014 and on this trip we noticed the hotel has fallen a few steps back from what it was compared to 2013. A few things I would like to know :

1. The A/C in the Reception area used to be really good and refreshing to walk into after a full day of shopping but in 2014 the A/C was literally non existent, so what I want to know is - was it temporary or is it still the same ?

How about the A/C in the Tower Wing Ground floor lift area (near the fish tanks ?) and in the AM Cafe. We usually hang around these areas hence the concern.

2. We always stay in the Tower Wing and have found that the Rooms and Washrooms were quite good (no foul smell, cockroaches etc) is the standard still the same in the tower wing?

The house keeping in the tower wing used to do an awesome job cleaning the rooms, how is it now ?

3. Is the hotel still happening like it used to be ? One plus point for this hotel used to be that it was never boring (people always in the lobby area etc).

These questions might be weird to some but this year we will be spending around 17 days during the Christmas and new year season in Bangkok and can't let anything spoil our holiday as it is a very special one this year! if the hotel has really gone down we might have to look for a replacement hotel - sadly :(

Thanks,

Jamie - Sri Lanka.
