At the beginning of our SE Asia trip we stayed here for 5 nites. Don't know how much the rooms were since it was part of a package but the rooms, staff, location and the amazing breakfast spread were fabulous. A block from the golden Buddha as well as the train station. Chinatown was adjacent as well. I would consider...

We book a van service to koh Samet from the tour service in the hotel. But the van only takes us to the train station, which is like 5 minutes walk away from the hotel, and then they transfer us to a HUGH SLOW bus. It took us 5 hours to the island! Nothing matches what we booked. Other than...

I travelled in Bangkok with couple of friends and we have a great time staying at Centra Hotel. The hotel is ideally placed near Train main station and the neighborhood is full of bars and restaurants. The hostesses were very friendly and professional especially Rangsinee (at hotel reception) who provide us with good advises to go out and fully enjoy...

We found the Centra Central Station Hotel to be perfect for our visit to Bangkok. Proximity to Chinatown and to the train station were wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful and varied and the staff helpful. The rooms were clean and relatively large by asian standards. My husband and I booked a 2 hour massage buffet which was out of this...

This hotel is within walking distance to some temples and China Town. There is a convenience store directly on the opposite side - across the street and one on the side of the hotel. The rooms are very small. The staff was very helpful in trying to help us find a cooking class. The breakfast buffet if ok, not great...

This Hotel is awfully situated for Central Bangkok. Its main residents are Chinese; it sits next to China Town. Booked without any knowledge of the City and locations. The MRT is the saving grace for travel to Sukhumvit which is where the action is; it is a short walk. Clearly a good choice and Hotel for you if China Town...

Just across the street from the main railway station offers good access to railway transport into and from Bangkok. Good access to the MTR connects with the major points in the city. Near the Golden Buddha and within reasonable distance to the major attractions makes the location almost perfect. Rooms located on 6th to 11th floor make them quiet and...

I arrived here after a very fraught journey - late and fed up! Reception staff were helpful and polite. Managed to find the bar open and had a snack and drink before turning in to my windowless room. I really struggled with that as the ac was cold but turned off it was airless and stuffy. Not a good night!...

We were so lucky in the past, that we were very surprised of the -real- level of this hotel. Furniture was old and partly broke down, no air in the room... And no way to open windows... Air con difficult to set up in a proper way... Design quite basic... We checked 2 rooms, but couldnot get one that would...

Strategic location, just across the road to Hua Lumpong train station and MRT. It's a nice choice to stay if you're looking for a reasonable price hotel that is near china town (10 minutes walk). The room is nice and clean, although it has weird smell at first, but it is acceptably. The staffs are friendly. I booked the room...

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
