The hotel is very easy to locate in Chinatown. Travelling around Bangkok with taxis and the hotel provides ample of name cards which you can take with you and show the taxi drivers. The reception staff and bellboys are very friendly and very helpful. Got one of my rooms upgraded because we requested for the rooms to be on the...

Stayed in BKK many times, but this was the first time in Chinatown. Will certainly stay at this hotel again if I need to be in that area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms small but have just about everything. There was no room safe (only negative point) but there are safe boxes at reception. A good value choice if...

The room was ok, the bathroom needs renovation, the noise from the street didn't bother me. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The location is perfect for shopping at Sampeng market, China town and Bo Bae market. Hua Lamphong train station is a 5 minute taxi ride that cost about 45 bath on meter.

we had a pleasant 4 nights stay in central chinatown, very close to fabulous streetfood restaurants and its famous daily market. old rooms but clean, excellent wifi, polite staff. a map of chinatown or bangkok would be welcome. bathrooms would need a bit of a refresh. breakfast not impressive at all, to say the least all in all, a solid...

great location but the hotel is in need of an update. Room was tiny. Sheets were torn and had cigarette burns on them (we were in a non-smoking room). Breakfast was only so-so - and that was before the cockroach scuttered across the floor - needless to say that we didn't try another meal there. Management needs to spend a...

Booked online and they were expecting us. Room clean, if not a little tired. Breakfast is good with the best omelets I have had for a while. Location is good with many places to eat nearby. Staff do not speak much English, but not a problem. It would have been good to have a map of Chinatown provided. I would...

Centrally located in Chinatown on one of the main roads (but rooms are not much noise effected), but due to the relativ near distance to the railway station (and Gold Buddha museum) a good location. The rooms are not big but for one night big enough. Coffe+tea making facilities in room, but you have to pay for the instant coffe...

We always stay here when in Bangkok, it's a mid range hotel, a bit dated, pretty clean, with an old lift, great staff, a decent breakfast & one of the best locations in town, if you can handle the sheer volume of people & traffic!Getting lost in the amazingly busy side streets is a great experience! Every evening street resturants...

We found this hotel in the Lonely Planet guide and it turned out to be perfect! Located in central Chinatown, the view from the room was great, looking down onto all the life of the street. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice English-Chinese breakfast in the morning and VERY easy to find a taxi from this place. Our room had...

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
