Ate breakfast here one morning as we stayed in the Khao San area. There is nothing flash about the dining area, but the food was good and the prices were reasonable for this area. The set breakfast options were of particularly good value, and the coffee was large and hot! One lady seemed to be running the restaurant/cafe and was...

I have not stayed here, but have enjoyed their breakfast many times. In general the menu is not distinguishable from all the others along Rambuttri though prices are a little lower than many, still high by native standards. I keep coming back for the wonderful dark bread and baguettes, something at a real premium in SE Asia. Their set breakfasts...

We slept three nights at the Merry V Guesthouse and we were very pleased. Good beds, friendly staff and good wifi ;). Cheap but good quality. It's a good location as it is a little bit out of all the crowded area, but still lively. We will come back in December to spend some more time.

It's always a friendly welcome as I make my way through the tables towards the front desk. The staff is friendly and polite. The rooms are bare but very clean. I have stayed here on prior visits and will keep staying here on future holidays. It is conveniently located in the Ram Buttrie area where food stalls and restaurants and...

I have stayed here about 15 times over the last 10 years or so. This used to be a good guest house with a good little restaurant downstairs. Unfortunately, I have watched it deteriorate year after year. And whilst it was still my 'go to' guest house in Bangkok, it is now run down to the point where I won't...

I use this hostel everytime I visit bangkok, budget single rooms for 200baht a night, hot showers and friendly staff. They make amazing fresh bread everyday. It's a 2 minute walk from Khao san road. Safe place for a single female traveller.

Comfortable to have my own room and not a dorm for one time. Quite cheap and basic room. Just not very simple to do without plug (electricity for charge devices) The location is perfect, near Rambuttri or Khao San Road, close to the river for take a boat, a bus stop just in front of.

This is my local hostel in Bangkok. Checked in a few times last year and I would definitely visit again. Cheap. Smack in the middle of the rustling and bustling city that Bangkok is well known for. Expect loud noises, chaos, and the smells of street food creeping into your room.

Actually quite surprised by how pleasant our stay was. Rooms are basic, but very clean and the beds are fine. It's cheap as well, We paid 300 baht for a double bed, with fan. Shared a bathroom, but those were fine too. On rambuttri, which is a perfect location to stay in Bangkok, near khao san, but way less noisy...

I've been staying here many times since 2010. The prices have not gone up, in fact last year it became even better value as the wifi is now free. I've looked around the area at other options, but none beats New Merry V so I always come back here. I always stay in the back part of the building, these...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
