Me and my girlfriend stayed in New Siam II 5 nights at start and at the end of our holiday in Thailand (March-April 2012). Came back after 2 year and satisfied again! 840B for aircon room just 10min from Khao San, 3 min walk from Phra a Thit pier No. 13 and 18Baht away from main attractions by river boats.... More

There are some things I like of New Siam, they are its proximity to Kao Sarn Road with its restaurants etc. (5 minutes walk), its proximity to the river, with the express boats (1 minute away), the front area, with the pool, internet, travel agency, decent staff and the experienced service you get. It's obviously not an establishment that was... More

I now have two grandsons they have also stayed here. The people remember all of us each time and are very friendly.... More

Clean, safe & value for money if you want to stay in this area. Quiet rooms - ESP at the end of the corridor (I asked for that room). It's not really the kind of place I like to stay (too family orientated & budget hotel without a boutique vibe) however it's everything it says it is. Location is great.... More

I think I have stayed at The New Siam 2 at least 10-12 times because Bangkok ia a hub city for most S.E. Asian countries and that is where I stay. In the last couple of years they added a new large extension facing Phra Arthit Rd. running along side the river. The New Siam 2 is more of a... More

The New Siam II Guesthouse is a great location. It's very close to Khao San Road/Rambuttri, but you can still get away from the madness and have a quiet room. It's a great location to the river for getting the river boat tours (Grand Palace, etc). The room was clean, with a fan and a/c, had a security box and... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
