My trip here was marred by the very rude female receptionist who spoilt my whole trip. My requirement was very simple, I said I wanted a quiet room but the receptionist kept on giving me the wrong rooms and blaming me. 1. She asked me why didn't I tell her all the requirements all at once but when I tried...

It is a Bangkok classic, but a bit of a classic of the past... in a few words: Location is good if you want to be in Sukhumvit. Mind you, if you are looking for the temples, royal palace etc then better stay in Banglampoo or Chinatown areas. If you the other hand you want easy access to the top...

Let me be honest, i booked this hotel thru booking.com for my wife and friend to use during her "visa" application run because it is on the same street as the place they needed to go. So, the comments are hers,. Small, HOT (more later), and no wifi unless you pay, no water provided (or so I was told). From...

This used to be our 'standby' if our then preferred first choice of the Golden Palace (soi 1) was full. This place is a bit of a throwback to the times when Bangkok's notorious night life was enjoying a real boom in the mid 1980s and early to the mid 2000s. The all night partying involving lasses and their 'Johns'...

This is a big hotel built in 1965 and has seen better days. However, it is being renovated and given a face lift. We stayed in a huge family room which has undergone facelift. A giant New A/C and fridge as well as a good TV with many channels were present. But unlike most 3 star hotels within the same...

I've stayed here several times since 2008. It has improved a little bit at a time every year I go back. It's not the Ritz. Don't set high expectations. There is no shampoo and amenities in the bathroom and sometimes the showers are crap. However, it is a time machine and has that 60's and 70's vibe about it. It...

I had two nights at Miami Hotel recently ... the Hotel is on the corner of Sukhumvit Road and Soi 13 ... 5 minutes walk from Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT train stations ... the hotel is guest friendly and the 24 hour reception meant no problems with a very late check-in ... NOTE !!! there were no credit card...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
