The location here is amazing. That and the staff are the only good things about this place. Everything feels like it was from the 70's. Fun for backpacking but there are better places in the same price range.

Picked this hotel for it's price versus location, and it was only after I had booked I realised it was practically next door where I needed to go in Bangkok to lodge a visitor visa for my wife's next Australian trip! The decor is retro and is very charming, the rooms are basic yet clean and also very retro. In...

If you don't mind staying in an older hotel then this place is very good value when you take into account its location and the fact that it has a pool. I stayed for 4 nights recently and it served the purpose. Being an old hotel it had bigger rooms than most of the newer modern budget alternatives. The room...

Have been staying there for 24 years, ever since I first started travelling to Bangkok and In last month I was ther for maybe the tenth time.. It never changes, although a few years ago, it seems they started to emphasise the 60 retro look of the place. I love the pool, it is such an oasis from a busy...

Great convenient location - especially for those needing Passport or Visa services from the 'Trendy Building' which is next door. We checked in and were immediately disappointed and asked to see a different room, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly though the second room was as bad as the first. OLD & SMELLY I asked to speak with the...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
