Stayed from 10-14 Aug for 2 rooms. Rooms are extremely clean(literally cannot find a single dust speck in the room upon arrival). Well done and truly commendable housekeeping team.
Great, effortless check in process. Front Office team members are well groomed and polite. Special mention to Mr Siripong (Apologies if I got the wrong person, afternoon shift reception, well built, Gentlemen wearing a shirt). He truly is exemplary to the team, personalized service and remembers all the small details we talk to him about in our small talks. Great job 👍👍.
Thank you to Mr Budda for making my pre arrival experience wonderful despite initial hiccups.
Location is great for massage and such but food options are quite limited. Would love to be hosted there again.

This hotel had a good write-up on Booking.com which influenced my decision to book this place. The reality was as follows: 1. The hotel is very centrally situated in Silom but is set back from the road, down a narrow driveway, and when I first saw it I realised I had made a mistake 2. The lobby is dark with low power ceiling lighting that gives the place a dull and dingy look. There are 8 floors serviced by a single small lift that can hold 3-4 people or 2 people with cases. 3. There is no pool, no gym and no other service available. Compared to nearby hotels which offer these facilities and which are far newer, the Tarntawan is very poor value for money. 4. Breakfast is served by the staff. There is no buffet which was unusual. The choice is a fruit plate (healthy option), English breakfast (egg, bacon), Chinese Congee or a noodle soup. You get a single plate/bowl of food and that’s it. You also get tea/coffee and an orange drink (not fresh). In all, it was the worst breakfast I have ever been served in a so-called 4 star hotel. 5. Staff were okay and polite but not particularly motivated. 6. Bedroom itself was dated but it was clean and nice. Facilities included cable TV, kettle with tea/coffee; fridge with water and soft drinks/beer; air conditioning.
Overall I thought it was a depressing place that needed a major makeover. I would not return.

I have previously stayed in this hotel 4 times and always enjoyed my visits as it’s conveniently located downtown Bangkok giving you access to everything regarding shopping; bars; restaurants and transport. On my last visit October 2019 I stayed for 5 days and on departure paid with different credit card that I booked with and was promised that charged amount would be refunded which never happened and 4 months on nothing is been done about it and unfortunately feel cheated as they have totally ignored my emails and request for an answer. Will no be staying here again while visiting Bangkok.

We very much regret to learn of your credit card refundable, after investigate to our staff and found that in your case was a bit complicated. Your original booking were made through agency or third party, the payment has been verified by your difference credit card, which we had informed to canceled with the hotel banking provider of your duplicated amount already as normal procedure, but in the refundable you must contact your credit card bank provider to get back your amount from the same card that you give to agency for security purpose of card's holder, this may take several time to process. Means, the hotel make a charge to your credit card just one amount, not cheat or to make duplicate charge. But you have to contact your bank of your refund amount, or if there is any evidence or reference needed from the hotel we do always appreciated to support. However, we do apologize for an inconvenience caused with you and please do let me know if any further assistant you may need from us. We stayed at the newly renovated tarntawan hotel Bangkok a few years ago. We enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to stay a little longer in Bangkok this time around and stay at the Tarntawan again. Apon arrival we were shipped off to the sister Tarntawan hotel, situated across the road from the hotel we originally stayed in with the excuse that the newly renovated was closed down due to covid. WHAT a disaster. I don’t even know where to begin. Don’t get me wrong as the staff were pleasant enough (apart from the hostess who checked us in and out attitude plus) BUT the hotel was a total disgrace and disappointment. We may as well have slept on the street as the temperature was that of the same INSIDE the hotel as it was outside. The “breakfast” included was also a joke as you has to pay extra for a decent coffee and the extensive menu was only limited to “white toast, eggs, crucified bacon and orange juice only. The only saving grace in the room was the bed “ only if you didn’t move around too much”. The bathroom door was falling off its hinges, the wall tiles were patched back on where they had fallen off, the seal around the tub was that caked on that it actually diverted the water when having a shower onto the bathroom floor. The list goes on In short I /we DO NOT recommend.

A charming hotel, unpretentious with an old fashion charm. While it is not a new establishment, everything about it is first rate including the attention and service from staff members. The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. The location in the heart of the Sarawong district is a bonus - superb eateries, bars and entertainment.

I have stayed here for 37 nights to find some new experiences and I got it. Eventhough I am Local Thai, live in Bangkok.But I need some place near to my work place. This hotel absolutely fit that condition.Everyday during my stayed period, i can just wake up and walk to my office in Silom, then walk (tempolary) home after work.
Hotel is a bit old but in good condition, very clean, good air con, warm shower, just everything I need to have a memorable experience.

I had a reservation here in April 2020 but unfortunately needed to cancel due to the world locking down at the time. The hotel is located very near to the Patpong night market area. Walkable distance to Sala Daeng BTS station as well as Sam Yan MRT station. Nice location so to say.
The rooms are good. The bed is very comfy. The mini bar was stuffed enough. The only drawback I would say is the lighting inside the room. It was very dull. There is no balcony as well. So the room was always dark even in the day time.
The staff were good and friendly. Willing to help. They helped to receive the missed baggage from the airlines even after checking out.
They have a nice restaurant at the ground floor. The smoking area outside is very pleasant with a tree at the centre. They have ample car parkinng space as well.
I recommmended this place to my friends already and they too stayed here and had good experience. I would definitely consider revisiting.

Yes, but that guest will have to leave his/her ID card with the security guard who is stationed outside the elevator. The guest will retrieve the ID card on the way out.

I stayed there in October during the changeover. It was not smooth. As for any changes in rules, and whether it is still a gay hotel, still remains somewhat of a mystery as the new management has never come back with an acknowledgement one way or the other to the many queries in this regard, asked by regular guests. To be safe, it may be better to stay at the Tarntawan apartments around the corner, until they get their act together.
There are more places to choose from in the Bangkok area.
