The Tarntawan hasn’t changed much, if at all, over the many years I’ve been coming here, which for me, is a massive USP. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, and the beds are the most comfortable I’ve slept in during my time in Thailand. Staff are very efficient, friendly and professional Location combines an easy access to everything, but as it’s away from the main road you’ll get a good night’s sleep. Highly recommended for mature couples and/or businesspeople who value serenity.

In a great location, within easy walking distance of most everything. Friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. A satisfying breakfast that fills you up for the day (great bacon). Reasonable rates. Comfortable and spacious room

It’s an ideal location set back off the main road and providing clean comfortable accommodation with standard executive and suite rooms en-suite, daily housing and a basic breakfast. Friendly efficient staff and affordable prices. Ideal for single, couples and families looking for a safe location with easy access to tour and get around bangkok. The hotel is a little dated in decor but Morden in style. Reception are helpful and a mind of information. It’s location is within walking distance to Silom day and night markets, ample shops and restaurants all within walking distance, as are the BRS and MRT transportation services.

The Tarntawan Hotel in Bangkok was a great place to stay during my 2 week vacation in Thailand. The location was perfect to me - close to the MRT and BTS (public transportation), shopping, Lumphini Park, and the Silom area with great bars and entertainment - gay and straight. Plenty of great food within walking distance, and convenient to many tourist attractions and the Chao Phraya River. The staff are friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. I was very happy with the good air conditioning. I will definitely stay here again when I get back to Thailand.

I have a soft spot for the Tarntawan since I’ve stayed here for the last 31 years on visits to Bangkok. No pool, no gym, no great views. However, a friendly staff, a decent free breakfast, and for us a great location for a reasonable price. The accommodations are roomy and clean. The hotel hasn’t really been updated in decades, which is just why I like it.

This hotel had a good write-up on Booking.com which influenced my decision to book this place. The reality was as follows: 1. The hotel is very centrally situated in Silom but is set back from the road, down a narrow driveway, and when I first saw it I realised I had made a mistake 2. The lobby is dark with low power ceiling lighting that gives the place a dull and dingy look. There are 8 floors serviced by a single small lift that can hold 3-4 people or 2 people with cases. 3. There is no pool, no gym and no other service available. Compared to nearby hotels which offer these facilities and which are far newer, the Tarntawan is very poor value for money. 4. Breakfast is served by the staff. There is no buffet which was unusual. The choice is a fruit plate (healthy option), English breakfast (egg, bacon), Chinese Congee or a noodle soup. You get a single plate/bowl of food and that’s it. You also get tea/coffee and an orange drink (not fresh). In all, it was the worst breakfast I have ever been served in a so-called 4 star hotel. 5. Staff were okay and polite but not particularly motivated. 6. Bedroom itself was dated but it was clean and nice. Facilities included cable TV, kettle with tea/coffee; fridge with water and soft drinks/beer; air conditioning. Overall I thought it was a depressing place that needed a major makeover. I would not return.…

I have stayed at this hotel many times on my visits to Bangkok. you can always count on it being a delight to stay at. The executive rooms are spacious and clean, with the large windows looking out onto the court yard at the front of the hotel. The staff members are always very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful with any assistance you may have. Congratulations too on your continuous survival after the pandemic....well done. Of course there had to be some severe cutbacks in order to do this, such as the breakfast. Still very good, but no more buffet, just the trimmed table service. I can certainly recommend the Tarntawan for a comfortable stay, and still at a very reasonable tariff.

Stayed from 10-14 Aug for 2 rooms. Rooms are extremely clean(literally cannot find a single dust speck in the room upon arrival). Well done and truly commendable housekeeping team. Great, effortless check in process. Front Office team members are well groomed and polite. Special mention to Mr Siripong (Apologies if I got the wrong person, afternoon shift reception, well built, Gentlemen wearing a shirt). He truly is exemplary to the team, personalized service and remembers all the small details we talk to him about in our small talks. Great job 👍👍. Thank you to Mr Budda for making my pre arrival experience wonderful despite initial hiccups. Location is great for massage and such but food options are quite limited.
