Let me start by saying that I travel all the time for my work and I also have done some backpacking. I have stayed in different type of accommodations, anywhere from hostels to a Five-Diamond hotel. I can make a difference between reality and unrealistic...More
We stayed at Majestic Grande over NYE. The hotel is very comfortable - clean, big rooms, big bathrooms, and is very nicely located, in Sukhamvit. The area does have a few sketchy massage parlours, but then that's expected in Bangkok. The hotel also offered a...More

With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's
hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

No there is no fee. You and your lady will be stopped as soon as you enter the hotel lobby by a hotel member of staff sitting were the tour desk is during the day...he will ask you what the number of your room is and your Thai lady for her ID which he will keep and log down. When your lady has left to go home or whatever the hotel staff member will phone you to ask if everything is ok. If everything is ok and you had problems with her she then gets her ID card back. I'm not sure about the hotels policy is on two ladies or more you may have to pay 500 baht like some other hotels do for an extra guest.
