Been to two different branches of this spa in Bangkok whilst on holiday as it was so good! I had the 90 minutes Thai massage and both times the ladies knew what they were doing! The reception at the nana branch was friendlier than the one at soi sukhumvit 24. You are given some relaxing tea at the beginning and...

We were not staying at the hotel but visited for few drinks as the hotel is charming and architectural. The bar was already closed when we visited but they have welcomed us for couple of drinks by the pool side. We got to hear about the hotel and the manager showed us the hotel which was very nice of him....

We stayed here for the weekend with 10 friends and everything was pretty much perfect. This is one of the few locations that can be rented in full and that was exactly what we needed: our own private pool villa in the very heart of Bangkok. The rooms are large and all designed in a "classic colonial style". Service was...

The exterior of Eugenia is charming. The pristinely maintained vintage mercedes parked out front, dramatic lighting, and antique wooden windows, reminds you of the golden age in Bangkok if there ever was one. The charm ends once you walk past the front door. Upon entering you get a check-in counter staff chatting away with another new staff member, two tall...

The Eugenia delighted my family and I when we stayed for 4 nights in October 2013. Yes it may be a little tired in areas, but that's what happens with genuine antiques, they don't remain shiny and pristine? I felt I had stepped back in time and could not fault the service from all staff particularly reception, who helped considerably...

We had our company trip to BKK last July and chose Eugenia to be our home for 4D3N. Super warm welcome by Mr Igarashi and his team. Eugenia is a beautiful place to stay at, lovely antique design and feels like home. We had a good time by the pool every night. Breakfast was awesome with various of selections and...

What a lovely place! Or should I say: what a lovely place that might have been! The design is beautiful but windows are broken and roof tiles missing. It seams this place is about 60 years old but it is less than a decade! I heard they transform that place into a spa ??? Ask before booking !

Pretentious off-track hotel in sukhumvit-area.The hotel is an genuine old Thai-style building with grandeur which is accentuated by a wonderful old mercedes-taxi in front of the lobby. Here the happiness ended. The hotel could not be reached by telephone (they changed the number without mentioning this on the internet and travelagency,it toke us two hours to get there from the...

We love Guest houses which is why we chose the Eugenia for the first two nights of our honeymoon in Thailand. It was hugely disappointing. The building is in a great location and looks stunning from the outside. However, upon arrival we got a standard room and not the suite we were promised. Eventually we got a "suite" which had...

I stayed at The Eugenia for a couple of nights during a holiday last year. The look and feel of the hotel is quite unique and I loved all the furniture and furnishings, it felt like a wonderful movie set. I loved the green-coloured pool though in a courtyard it didn't have much of a view, but that is to...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"The Charming Embodiment of Fine Living" " The Eugenia ", an old world style architectural beauty, is embodied in a late 19th century colonial-style house, charmingly decorated and tastefully furnished by its owner in the heart of down town Bangkok for travellers with refined taste who seek to enjoy more than a touch of the Fabled East. Each of the 12-suites of The Eugenia is appointed with antique furniture and fittings. The four-posted beds, settees, dressers and desks in the suites are of various vintage as are light switches and light fittings; they bring you back perhaps eighty or a hundred years, or more. The period decoration even extends to the bathtubs that were made of hand - beaten copper and aluminium-alloy. ... more   less
