The WORST PLACE EVER AFTER TRAVELLING SE ASIA FOR 8 MONTHS!!! DO NOT STAY. PLEASE GOD NO! Staying at sawasdeee smile inn koh san road for 3 nights. The toilet had urine in it. The room was unclean. Reception staff very rude when we said we wanted it cleaning and we would have to wait to the next day for... More

Upon arrival at Sawasdee guesthouse we were greeted by a VER rude receptionist. The lady grunted at us when asking us questions rather than speaking in a kind manner and would look at us every now and again like we had 5 heads. After she had given us our room key she did not direct us to our room so... More

I've been in a hovel or two, but this takes the absolute biscuit. I think I'd sooner have slept in the street than in this place - the only saving grace was the lovely man who helped me with the coffee machine at the (very appallingly ridiculously poor) breakfast. Toast. That was it. Toast and juice. I guess you get... More

This place is awful. From start to finish. The reception lady was completely rude when we checked in. The lobby are and coriors were filty, dirt on the floors, walls, creaking sairs, dirty laundry in the corridors, rubbish on the floors. The 'deluxe' room we ordered: FILTHY, stained walls, stained ceiling, stained bedsheets, just one hairy ragged towel, hairy blanket,... More

Dirty, smelly. But not the ordinary dirty, more like the "haven't seen a broom since 1977" kind of dirty. ... And I was born and raised in an eastern European country... Not sure why the TV in the room, probably to entertain the cockroaches. It has some really nice spit marks on the wall you can enjoy watching or counting... More

The dirtiest, filthiest, smelliest place I have ever been. The whole room was infested in ants - the bed, pillows, sheets, everything. We got one towel for two people which was ripped to shreds and absolutely useless. The windowsill was rotting, the shutters on the window had come off so there wasn't anything there it was pretty much just a... More

I never ever do bad reviews but honestly I have to write one, I am not joking with the title! Happy that it was so close to all the bars because you have to get very drunk to be able to sleep! The rooms are so dirty, and very very smelly. There were holes in the walls and nets so... More

It seems as they have never cleaned the rooms for ages. Everything is very dirty: floor, windows, attached bathroom and even the sheets were plenty of hair. We only stayed 1 night in a standard double room which is enough to totally dislike this place. We booked a double room but we got a small bed instead. Staff are very... More

Really the same as everyone says.... We only met one member of staff, a boy on his phone constantly who had no interest in turning his head to acknowledge customers were there. We had booked and paid online but when we told him his response was 'no'.... what? I've paid online and you just say 'no'??? His rudeness baffled me.... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
