We chose this hostel because we wanted something inexpensive in a good location for two nights in Bangkok in November 2011. On Hostelworld the rating of this place was not too bad so we decided to give this place a try. On arrival, staff were confused and not very friendly. In order to get to our room on the third...

This is a dirty and disgusting hotel.Surly staff, dirty, stained blankets and sheets in the rooms ..TV didn't work properly, extremely noisy fan.Worst off all were the communal bathrooms..Truly shocking.Obviously cleanliness is not high on their list of priorities.Absolutely nothing going for this place apart from its location.

I know this hotel is very tempting because of the price. But it doesn´t worth stay here. The only good thing is the location. The rest is just bad things: the room is so small that you have not space to open your suitcase or bags. The windows are broken, so there are many mosquitos in the room. The air...

This is a very dirty hotel. The bathroom window offers no privacy and there's that terrible smell coming from the bathroom drainage. It's only saving grace is the hotel's proximity to Kaohsan road where the night activity is quite good. I would not recommend this to any tourist - local or foreign.

it was my first experience to live in a cheap guesthouse, so i might be not very objective. So, the place is not clean, rooms are small and very simple: there is a bed, tv and sink I(in the room, not in the barhroom), no wardrobe, no chair, no bedside table. There is a very old water heater in the...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
