We stayed here last October and have only just got around to writing a review... This place was everything its meant to be! Wow.... Firstly there was great communication. Bangkok was flooding when we were due to stay there, and the hotel kept in contact with us in the days leading up to our stay to give us the latest...

Just finished a 3 day stay at the Arun Residence in Bangkok. First impressions were great - simple lobby with overhead fans and attentive staff with a good command of english. We arrived on the 6am flight into Bangkok and got to the hotel by 9 and our room was ready for us to have a snooze and a shower....

It is very nice place and we are happy to stay here. The room is nice and we do like this boutique hotel than others modern ones in town. When I go back home I will tell my friend to come to this hotel. Food at the deck is very good and you can enjoy the nice view near the...

Who is not keen on doing the Traditional Dinnercruise on the Chaophraya river - the Arun Residence is a very good alternative. They have a small Hotel, Bar & Restaurant. The restaurant has 3 floors, partly covered with a roof and a bar upstairs with great views of the famous Wat Arun Temple! Food Choice between Western & Thai traditional...

Lovely boutique hotel perched above the Chao Praya River in an old Sino-Portuguese mansion at the end of a typical Bangkok soi. The rooms are imaginatively decorated with works of art on the walls and beautifully polished wooden floors. It was a wonderful start to our holiday to gaze across at Wat Arun whilst sipping a welcome cocktail at the...

First night of honeymoon and stayed in the Arun suite, beautiful view over the river looking at the temple, thai food at restaurant yummy and service top notch. Would definitely recommend staying at this traditional Thai style boutique hotel. The manageress is lovely, very helpful and speaks perfect English.

My family of four stayed 2 nights in the Jasmine Suite. The room view afforded us to see the local people working and living, the tourists enjoying the dinner cruises, and the Wat Arun illuminated in the backdrop. The suite was spacious and clean. The location of the hotel is in walking distance from the top tourist destinations in Bangkok....

After reading many good reviews and seeing the photos of the views from this hotel, we decided to stay for a night in transit from Chiang Mai to Krabi. I'm very happy we only booked one night. Upon arrival, it took a very long time before we were even acknowledged at the front desk. It was dinner time and the...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
