I was talking to another long stay guest one day and I said that I thought my room had been tampered with and some of my stuff had gone missing after I went out. He said exactly the same thing had happened to him too. The girls working on reception even had the gall to jammy the lock when he...

The room was large and clean, had a window and a fan. The fan was a little noisy but did a great job and we were niether hot nrt cold on any of the four nights we stayed there. It is located five minutes from Khao San Rd but is quiet. The shared bathrooms were quite clean and the showers...

We stayed here for 4 nights. Our room was on ground floor, near the reception.. there was a problem with the air conditioner. The control was broken and we cannot lower the temperature and it automatically goes down. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of night because of the cold so I have no choice but to switch off the...

We booked through agoda.com for 2 nights at New siam Guesthouse. We arrived at 6.30am and they made up our room and we were allowed it from 7.30am. We had a double room with a shared bathroom. There were two toilets and two showers on each floor, which were always available for use and very clean. Everytime I did walk...

Close to Khao San Road. We booked the room through the internet but it is cheaper to do so in place! Double room with fan and shared bathroom 370 bath. Clean. The guesthouse doesn't provide towels. Most of the staff speak little to no english.

Very cheap, more of a hostel style. There were a couple of choices of rooms; single, double, and shared I think. With options of ac with hot shower or fan with shared bathrooms. I ended up with a double with fan and shared bath for 360 baht. They require a 200 baht deposit that you get back. Right on a...

We've stayed in New Siam Palace View and New Siam II, but New Siam I is letting down the name of New Siam in Bangkok! It was the worst place we have stayed in the whole of Asia because they were just so extremely rude...on top of that towels were ripped, shower was a drizzle, Internet was intermittent and very...

Amazing location down a little side street off Soi Rambuttri. You are so close to the action here but the guest house itself is nice and quite. There are many rooms to suit all budgets, I tend to go for the cheapest room - single bed fan shared toilet. it's clean and safe so what more do you really want...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
