We were pointed towards 'small luxury hotels of the world' and found this little charmer. By comparison to a lot of the other hotels on the site, it was relatively inexpensive at just under £100 for the night. The welcome was lovely, a genuine welcome drink from a selection (including alcohol - yay) and a strict rule of no tipping....

This was our final stop in BKK before heading home and stumbled across a deal on Agoda for $146 Australian in their classic room. We were blown away with the quality of the hotel and service. From the outside it's pretty underwhelming behind a concrete fence, but you are immediately welcomed by calm, restrained Japanese styling once you step into...

This is a beautiful place, hidden next to the Exchange Tower. The location is quite convenient with walking distance to nearby shopping mall and the train station. We were greeted by friendly and staff members with an attitude of ever wanting to help, so the check in process was easy. The rooms were big and great. Extremely large bed and...

Just stayed for 2 nights in this hotel which doesn't look like much from the outside & is on busy road but don't let that fool you as it is gorgeous inside & road noise is minimal. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Price is reasonable too especially having come from Shangri-La. It has the right boutique effect in...

I thought that it was really good with a choice of this hotel. This hotel is not big at all, but the room is large, and the size of Bet is too big to sleep alone. And it is the hospitality to be glad above all. A splendid smile of the hotel staff met the calm entrance when I entered....

Overall a very nice hotel with very friendly service. I like small individual hotels. This is one of it. It is very quiet, even located in the city center. MRT and BTS are very close, so you are very flexible. I always had the suite, which is very nice and big. But I guess, the other hotel rooms are also...

I had twice before stayed at Maduzi although some years before and found each stay most excellent. This stay, with friends, was also exceptional. Maduzi is located in downtown Bangkok right near the Skyway and a short walk to Centre Point shopping mall; the Paragon complex is but four Skyway stops away. Breakfast is included, and the choices are unique;...

Sadly to say, this must have been my most disappointing stay in all of my extensive traveling. Thank goodness my husband and I only stayed one night. Secret retreat hotels is a reliable group of places to stay that we have utilised many times. We chose Maduzi by secret retreats recommendation.... Big mistake. As we approached the hotel we were...

Stayed here for three nights in January 2013 (yes, I know that was four years ago). We paid 18,410 Thai Baht for three nights (Bed and Breakfast) in either a suite or corner suite. For some reason our taxi driver from the airport had a hard time finding it. Once we arrived, it was a restful place for exploring Bangkok....

This was the first time that I chose to stay in BKK at a smaller hotel. The choice is so varied and cheap in BKK that one is literally spoilt for choice. This one costs a little bit more but for that you essentially get a beautiful apartment like hotel room with every modern amenity and design feature. The breakfast...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
