Great cocktails with big menu. A was our barkeeper, really kind guy and kwos what he does. Greate view with infinity pool. Tip was deserved. One of the best views in Bangkok. Sunset was really great. Strongly recommend a visit.

I’m no stranger to Bangkok but this is the first time I’ve stayed at the Amara, and I was very happy I gave them a go on this trip. Ideal location - so many things on the doorstep, good connections, and a simple, fast taxi transfer from Don Mueang. Spacious bedroom with everything you might need. Excellent housekeeping each day. Great view too. Very good breakfast in the basement restaurant. Plenty of options. Polite, friendly staff. Wi-Fi solid and dependable. Nice rooftop pool and bar. Good place for sunset (happy hour 5-7). Just one annoyance - the gym…. It was small (standard for most hotels) but there were several cardio machines and just about enough weights and machines for a holiday workout. Ok so far. But: - One of the weights machines was broken, and it was a multi-exerciser, which significantly reduced the number of workout options - Of the 4 treadmills, one had an ‘out of order’ sign on it, one had no power (despite being switched on), and one had a frozen touch screen. So only one of them worked. - The aircon is switched off and you need to switch it on yourself. Problem is, it takes well over an hour to cool down from 30 to 20C, so it’s a hot room. Despite the gym situation, the Amara is highly recommended. I’ll stay here again.

The well advertised infinity pool at this hotel is a scam. It is absolutely horrible. The decking is rotten and peeling horribly. It features theater seating like an airplane beause the space and pool are so small for the 250 rooms in this hotel. The hotel is very clean though. The beds have nice linens, but the rooms are cramped with AC malfunctions. The staff needs training. The breakfast buffet was a big carbohydrate nightmare featuring manily Asian food with very few western options. You have to beg for coffee from the waiter since there is no coffee urn. Breakfast and the hotel are over priced for what you get. Read the latest reviews. This hotel has not survived Covid well. Amara should be embarrassed to consider this hotel their flagship hotel. It is sinking! It is definitely not a four star hotel at all.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your time writing your reviews on your recent stay. I had discussion with the team to find out more details with regards to your stay. Your room was upgraded from our standard room to a higher room category due to unable to adjust the temperature as it was too cold. We also informed you on how to adjust our air con temperature. Our breakfast items are well prepared to serve all of our guests in which often we received more and more compliments. Our F&B team would like to serve our guests with care, therefore, we prefer to make coffee as per guests' preferences and serve as individually. We set our newly ordered sun loungers facing the swimming pool so all guests could get the same feeling and pattern. Thank you once again for your reviews. Regards, Poom Samkasat General Manager

I booked a club room for two nights last week . It was not the experience I hoped it would be , and also the experience I’ve had at every other club room throughout the world . This was way below the usual standard I’ve had everywhere else . Breakfast was not included. The room was adequate, but nothing much more than a regular deluxe room . My view was of the ‘wrong side of the city ‘ ( Very odd club rooms always have premium views) The ‘so called ‘ minibar has to be requested and consists only of three cans of soft drinks. No snacks or alcohol and is only free for one night , Very dismal indeed. The so called ‘ afternoon tea’ is only just that ! Just tea, coffee and help yourself choice of two supermarket style biscuits in a jar on the bench . Afternoon tea in the rest of the world consists of sandwiches and pastries and scones. ( EVERY other club room I’ve stayed in provides this and I’ve stayed in a lot !) Evening cocktails and canapés was a better affair , though ( I’m not a fussy eater ) the three small food options were all rather a token gesture. Stale Luke warm mini toasted sandwiches, a lemongrass prawn bite and an awful wonton that was neither soft nor crunchy. I would NOT book this hotel again for CLUB ROOM . There are much better alternatives in Bangkok for this price. The rest of the hotel was fine . Staff were amazing , it was clean and well located. The rooftop infinity pool was wonderful, though there is zero shade and no umbrellas.

I found this hotel to be decent, although a bit overpriced for Thailand. The view in my Club 10 room was great, the housekeeping was friendly and did a good job, most of the employees were friendly. I liked that they usually opened up the door for you, brought your things up to your room to show you the features. Internet was fast, and the in room dining was good. AC was spot on. Didn’t see any bugs. Excellent water pressure, and I loved that shower. On the downside, I paid more for this 3.5/4 star room than I did for a bonafide 5 star room later in my trip at another hotel, so to put it into perspective, it was a little overpriced for Thailand. It was still an excellent deal for American prices, but why stay here when I can stay at a nicer hotel for less next time I’m in Bangkok? There were also a few parts of the room that felt worn down— the wall was a little dirty, shower tiles had some dirty grout. It wasn’t disgusting, but it felt like maintenance was lacking a little (it wasn’t anything that can be cleaned, they needed to regrout that shower and reseal the window next to the shower IMO). But other than that, everything was clean. The pool felt more like a four star, somewhat party pool when I went up there than a relaxing resort environment to read a book and sunbathe. So if you go up there with that expectation, you won’t be disappointed. Also as of April 2023, the club lounge was closed upstairs so you had to go down in the basement. I didn’t bother. I was also disappointed that the coffee bar appeared closed in the lobby. They did great room service and a good grab and go snack/drink spot, but that coffee bar would have been nice if it was open. The area was okay, but not a lot of things to walk to. However, it was very easy to call a Grab or taxi. I think another reviewer mentioned, it felt more like a business hotel. I agree with that. Overall, I enjoyed my stay but probably won’t be back at the $200+ per night level unless they bump up the service and do some minor renovations.

Dear Justpumpitlouder, Thank you very much for your time writing your reviews in details and very highly appreciated. If you allow me to explain, our club lounge is temporarily closed for maintenance, therefore, we provide free flow snacks and drinks including alcoholic drinks to be consumed at our Element restaurant which is located at B1. Our club lounge is projected to opened by the end of May. Additionally, there is a Nespresso coffee being sold at The Bar. Thank you for pointing out the cleanliness area inside the bathroom in your room which we have already take care of. Once again, thank you very much indeed and look forward to having chance welcoming you to stay with us again in the near future. Regards, Poom Samkasat General Manager
