We didn't stay over here unfortunately as we had already booked a hotel down the road but we wish we would've! We only stopped for a sandwich, fries and a smoothie which were amazing. Probably the best snack I've had in Thailand. We ended up having three smoothies because they were so good ; we had one strawberry, one watermelon...

I stayed here for 2 nights over Xmas and was overall very impressed, much better than I was expecting for a budget hotel. About 40 min drive from the airport (400 baht) and walkable to all the main spots in Banglamphu. Felt safe for lone travellers. *24 hour check in, helpful when arriving at 3.30am! *Helpful staff were able to...

- close to many tourist attractions in old town, many bus passes - nice room - food start from 7 am to late with reasonable price like 80 B, come in a big plate - no toilet door lock but wouldn't be a problem if you come with a friend - lift start from level 3, so just have to...

I have stayed here 3/4 times over the years and I really love coming back here. The staff are so sweet and welcoming, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy and the restaurant is really good. There is a hot tub but it didn't look/smell too clean so I didn't partake :( I only had one problem on my...

Decent size room with a cupboard to put your things and a little sofa type area in the corner. Bed firm but comfy enough for a sleep. Shower/bathroom facilities good, shower as hot as you want it with good constant pressure. Wifi was really good but couldn't connect laptop. Location ideal for Khao San road if you don't want the...

Stayed for two nights in the cheapest room. The location is great, being far enough away from khao san that it won't be annoying or loud but still only a 5 minute walk away from the action. Service was fine, didn't really use the staff. Good food in the restaurant, good room as well. Nice view from the room.

I really enjoyed my stay at Diamond House! It's very close to Koh San Rd but not too noisy, I slept well. The room was very clean and the decor was very Thai authentic. I had a bunkbed room which I thought was very charming. There is a nice jacuzzi rooftop but it closes at 10pm. The staff was very...

Best meals we had in Bangkok. Hot fresh ingredients and good value for money. Prawns were beautifully presented and delicious as was chicken and cashews and the fried rice. Highly recommend if staying in the area.

Nice small hotel decorated in a wooden Thai style. Bed on the floor as per the local style. Clean modernly furnished bathroom (sink, toilet decent powerful shower). The room was comfortable and fairly quiet. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. There is a 500THB deposit for the room key which I wasn't expecting but unless you lose the key...

Stayed here on our final night in Bangkok before flying home. We ended up in a bunk bed room which was perfectly ample for our needs. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly. Location wise, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Khao San Road and the jetty for the river taxis. Be aware though that...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
