Extraordinary reviews for this hotel: drugged? ... Really? Sounds extremely unlikely. And those complaining about a brothel in the basement; again, really? Prostitution in BKK? Whatever next? I was expecting herds of Wildebeeste sweeping up Sukhumvit. Or figure skating through the traffic. My impression of this hotel was much more positive. The reception staff I found delightful; always smiling and...

I found the location very handy as easy walking distance to trains & areas of my interest. The staff were friendly and helpful. I booked a redecorated I Chinese room with a view plus has bonus of opening window. Room was smaller than expected but since traveling solo not really an issue. What did surprise though was there was no...

This hotel is in a great location and close to the underground and has a nice basic pool on the roof. Alot of girls hanging out the front of the hotel in the evening though. Rooms are big and staff relatively friendly.

A very good hotel in a great location for train, shopping and especially nightlife having popular bar in the basement and 2 sports bars in the hotel. The staff are excellent and look after all your requirements. Great rooftop pool for a cooling off.....My only negative is that I was put in a smoking room that smelt really bad, I...

Rooms fine if high up. Not quiet. Air con is individual in-room, old and noisy. No air con in lobby or corridors. I asked to be moved to a quiet room. Same air con noise, and they moved me next to the noisy old lift, which goes up and down through the night (as things do in Bangkok). Lift breaks...

I had an excellent week long stay at the Ruamchitt. The room was very clean and well maintained, possibly recently refurbished. The A/C worked well and was quite a reprieve from the summer heat. In my opinion, my bed was quite stiff, but I didn't have any discomfort sleeping. My only gripe was that the pillows were too thick for...

The hotel is in very strategic position in Sukhumvit road close to Nana bts skytrain station and Asok Junction , and just this make a point to consider, if we note that the price is absolutely affordable this could be a very good choice, considered that the hotel has a smart rooftop pool facing Bangkok skyline. My room was basic...

Location is great. After that? Personally forget it. Stayed here one night due to needing to be on Soi 13 for visa business. Front desk were less than friendly. Room was marginally OK Mattress was one of the worst I and the other half ever been on. Lumpy but the kicker was the sides must of been sat on by...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
