I've been going there since 2008 when the hotel opened, it was just great, nice pool and bar on the roof where you could sit and have a drink or a snack overlooking the city view. 5 years later, it's dirty, concrete is cracked, bar is closed. The carpets in the corridors are disgusting. The new ownership is too busy...

This hotel had a deal on with B/F etc and it was extremely good value. Breakfast was really of high quality and the service was spot on. The room was huge with tea/coffee making and morning newspaper. The bathroom was excellent with toiletries supplied. Back home, I would be paying in the $$ for a room of such quality whereas...

I landed in bangkok just over a week ago and spent the first week at Tivoli Hotel in Sathorn a couple of hundred meters from Lumpini Park tucked down the back of the embassy district in Soi Si Bumphen, well maintained rooms, icy cold air con, and a fantastic roof top pool. Only downside was breakfast, it was plentiful and...

We chose to stay at this hotel after reading a very positive Frommer's review. However, our experience there was highly disappointing. I thought I could easily walk from the metro station to the hotel, as the map indicated it was very near by - well that was certainly not the case. It's easily a 15 minute trek, which in the...

Stayed here several times already, the hotel has a very convenient location. Clean and well maintained, great staff, food, spa and everything you need for a short or long stay in Bangkok. Prices are low compared to other hotels of this class.

I stayed at this hotel in October 2008, when it was new. (See previous review dated Dec 2008) 6 night stay - Superior Room #710 Overwhelming "Sewerage Smell" filled the room. Problem could not be fixed, & no alternative room could be found, at anytime during my stay. Not even a lower catagory room. A complimentary Fruit Bowl didn't really...

We only stayed here 1 night. Was quite glad about that. Bangkok is dirty, we don't like it. View from room is just dirty buildings. Not very glamorous! Room was cleanish, just not sparkly. A slight damp smell/feel. Breakfast was average, did not eat any other meal as went out. Had a drink atthe bar on the rooftop- next to...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. This hotel situates in the residential area behind Sathorn with many smaller budget hotels around. A local mentioned this area has become the new "Khaosan" but still very Thai. Not easy to find as it is in a small street and some taxis are not aware of this hotel. Nevertheless, it is away...

Staying in Sathorn

Neighbourhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.

“Asking for rooms about, I dont know..., 4th floor is probably a good idea as traffic is wild on the street below.”

“Most of the rooms are the same, the difference is just in sight. There are studio apartments that are spacious, but the rooms themselves are great for the price you will pay.”
