A beautiful, relaxed hotel with friendly and super helpful staff - we will most definitely return! Breakfast menu was amazing - especially for our super fussy kids there was a selection of everything (western to suit their tastes) - good coffee, lovely ambience and a smiley friendly face from our waiters every morning. The hotel itself is set in the most idyllic grounds, right on the river. We had breakfast right by the river on a few mornings and it was really peaceful. The rooms were well equipped and serviced every day which was a real treat. Water in abundance and tea and coffee making facilities. Cannot say anything negative about this place...... love it!

We loved the style of this small, boutique hotel, which mixed traditional Thai style (lots of wood) with modern facilities in a stylish way. It had beautiful manicured gardens which ran from a courtyard to lawns and down to the riverside. There was a good size pool and sun deck. Its location was great, being a little way from the main city, but easily accessible. The choice of food was great and the meals we had at the hotel were excellent. We really enjoyed having early evening drinks at a table right beside the river and then eating there too. We were also impressed by the staff, from the welcome at check-in to the serving staff. As for our room, it was fabulous. We had the "White Elephant Suite" on the top (third) floor, which was spacious, clean and well appointed. It also had a large balcony overlooking the lovely gardens and the river. We even got up early to sit on the balcony to watch the sun rise! The whole place was spotlessly clean. We were impressed with the wifi too, which was better than at home!

This is a wonderful peaceful boutique hotel on the edge of the Ping River close to the old city of Chiang Mai. I stayed in the very spacious white elephant suite which was amazing with its own large balcony overlooking the river. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful and by the end of my stay I felt more like a guest in their home rather than a stranger in a hotel. While it is only about a 15 minute walk to the night market they operate a free bus to the market of an evening which is very helpful. My only complaint is the very poor wi-fi connection. Indeed by the end my stay I had grown so tired of the unreliable and at times slow connection that I swapped to 4g. Otherwise my stay was without fault and I look forward to staying with them again on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

Aruntara is a beautifully decorated boutique hotel and a lovely peaceful retreat from busy Thailand life. We loved how helpful and friendly staff were and how they went out of their way to always make us feel welcome. The hotel itself is gorgeous, beautiful interior and lovely architecture. It definitely stands out. We wouldnt stay anywhere else on our next visit to chiang mai!
