Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, esp big Sam. He gave us the best advices to get around the city. Also, he's so fun to chat with. The house itself is beautiful. If I ever go back to Chiangmai, I'll stay in the same place.

My husband and I arrived in Chiang Mai - tired from first a 23-hour train trip from Butterworth to Bangkok, and then, a few hours later, another long rail journey from Bangkok - and Sawasdee Guest House was the first lodging I called (tripadvisor recommendations!). Sam was forthcoming and charming, and offered us a fine rate for a five-night stay,...

We stayed at Sawasdee Chiang Mai House for four nights in February 2010 based on the strength of positive reviews on this forum, and I have to say that it was everything others said it would be - clean, friendly, welcoming, comfortable, quiet, secure, great wi-fi with routers on every floor, etc, etc. I would also praise Sam and his...

I booked two nights based on previous TA reviews, and want to add that all the accolades you read about Sam, his niece, and the guest house are true. There was a bit of a mix-up for our pick-up at the Chiangmai airport the day we arrived. It turns out that because we had originated our travel to Chiang Mai...

Me and my mom stayed two nights at Sawasdee Chiangmai House in February 2010 and we loved it! The guesthouse has a family atmosphere with wonderful decorated rooms, large comfy beds and everything you need (even flip-flops in the bathroom). High speed Internet and coffee/tea/water/fruit is available for guests all day in Big Sam’s cafe, which was great because we...

My husband, adult daughter and I just left Sawasdee House this morning after spending the last 2 nights there. It was lovely. We selected it due to TripAdvisor reviews and it certainly lived up to its reputation for us. Very clean, safe and great area for getting around to anything. We walked easily to Sunday Night Market (a must do)....

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in January, 2010. Wonderful staff; Sam and Mo are very helpful with all of your needs and are the main reason to stay here. The rooms are fine. My only problem is the noise from the school and from the street make the balcony rooms very noisy. We asked to be...

I was absolutely delighted when I came across Sawasdee Chiang Mai House last year and booked to stay there for one month recently. I loved every moment of my stay and it is a perfect location for walking around the city. It was quite the most warm and friendly guest house I have stayed in, in Chiang Mai. Sam and...

This is a great budget hotel with very helpful and gracious hosts. Superb location = close to sights. Free wireless internet was great. Room was spacious with balcony. Clean, comfortable bed with original mural painting on the wall. Really appreciated that the hosts did not push the tours or any extras on us. But when we wanted to initiate a...
