I am a long time customer, since 2014. I've been there for 16 months in total, and ongoing. I stayed in 5 different rooms. So I know EVERYTHING about this place. The location is good and quite. It’s very close to: Chiang Mai Gate, a fresh food market, a walking street. Night Bazaar is not far, you can get it...

My girlfriend and I also stayed in the notorious "Room 514" and as described in another review below, it's extremely noisy, there is a guy coughing all day and night and generally very inconsiderate for other guests. We stayed for three days in the hotel, we would have checked out after 1 but we had nowhere else to go and...

This Residence is in a great location at the Chiang Mai gate. Great for walking in the old city and to the local markets as well as great restaurants. The staff speaks English and is very helpful about where to go and things to do. The apartments are very neat and well arranged with most conveniences. The room is well...

If you decide to stay at the Smith Residence for a month or more don't let the reception give you room 514, The man in room 513 will keep you awake all night coughing and playing musical chairs with his furniture. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything .if that's not bad enough let's talk about the...

This review is left by the guests who had different expectations to our core focus, which they could have read on our website. Most of this is untrue and highly exaggerated. This review is simply sour grapes and revengeful. Left by the guests who exhibit violence behavior and using derogatory terms towards the other guests during of their staying. We...

Unbeatable location and spacious rooms. Plenty of shops and places to eat on your doorstep. Cheap room service available, and amazing view from the rooftop pool. The gym was also well equipped. Would recommend to every one.

Smiths is great for long term or short term stays. Very reasonable prices. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Short term stays get their room serviced daily whereas long term stays are weekly. Cleaning staff are very polite, friendly and honest. Reception staff are helpful and speak very good english. Theres a small convenience store near foyer which sells beer, coke...

Smith residence is a hotel located at chiang mai gate. Almost next to Saturday market, great central location. Prices (especially monthly rates) are good. Rooms have good size and are clean but mattresses are not so comfortable imo and decor is very basic. Staff is friendly, and food is of good quality in the little restaurant. All in all a...

Smith's residences is within 100 metres or so of the southern side moat. The place is super clean and staffed by excellent, helpful and friendly people. On site cafe with local and western food and kiosk with emergency supplies and cold beer. Great little meeting place for residents to chat. OK you are not staying at the Ritz but you...

It was a comfortable and nice residence with kind and helpful staff and clean rooms. Near the shopping centres and in the middle of the town. Breakfast was great .I enjoyed my trip to chiang main and buy many beautiful and hand made things.

All I can say is it's about the best value for facility's I have had in Thailand... Big rooms and basic or deluxe are the same size just with less features. Ie. Bath, microwave nicer fittings and finish. Oh and a higher floor so a better view of the mountains. Many expats and long stay customers, that should be all...

“We've stayed in the "mountain view" rooms which have a splendid view of the sacred mountain behind the city, and we've stayed on the quieter "city view" side. One gives a close-up bird's eye view of the comings and goings of that part of the city, while the quiet side guarantees a good night's sleep and a gentle awakening. Either side is great. The upper floors give quick access to the gym and pool, the lower floors mean you can get to the cafe, bar or street rapidly. Depends on what you're wanting. ”
