Cheap guesthouse with nice rooms. The staff is so friendly and nice, they greet you like you are part of their family. The pool is also very nice. You can also have a sun bath on the roof. They also offer a laundry service, which...More
Because my bathroom floor didn't drain well, I had a puddle of stagnant water in the doorway for my entire stay. They say that they clean every three days, but they never cleaned my room in the four days that I stayed there. The water...More

A better than average affordable backpacker guesthouse on a quiet soi in the historic city. Nice large rooms with hot showers. Front rooms have good views over Wat Chiang Man. We didn't try the restaurant. Very helpful tour operator based in lobby.
Very good value for the money. The room was good, bathroom not so clean for western standards but ok. They have a swimming pool which our kids really enjoyed. Very good location in a quiet spot near a temple, right in the old town.

Hi, good question. There are no safes in the rooms. Instead, they have a wall of wooden lockers at the base of the stairs. You can put your own lock on it, or buy a lock from the staff for 50Baht. On the plus side, there is usually staff at the front desk which is directly in front of the lockers. On the down side, the wooden doors are very flimsy and could be broken with no difficulty at all.
We ended up keeping our essential valuables in the room with us, then moving them to the locker when we were at the pool, and carrying them with us when we were away from the hotel. You may also decide to split your valuables between your person, the room, and the locker... Just so that any single crime didnt wipe you out. Having said that, we didnt have any problems during our stay at SK House 2. Hope this helps.

"Rooms near the back stair-case are much quieter."
