Very good value for the money. The room was good, bathroom not so clean for western standards but ok. They have a swimming pool which our kids really enjoyed. Very good location in a quiet spot near a temple, right in the old town.
Clean hotel in good location, able to walk to most sights. Pretty quiet, bed very firm. Staff at front desk very friendly and helpful, had our laundry done and it was done quickly very cheap. Lots of good places to eat around hotel. Good breakfast...More
We loved this place; for 400 baht we had an enormous double room, very clean, with a fan, comfy bed and warm shower. It's a family business and they are pretty friendly. There is even a pool! I just swam once but it was super...More
We stumbled across this place online the night before arriving in Chiang Mai. Started great with a guy waiting for us at the train station. The place is bigger than we thought. Rooms were large and clean, if a little basic. The thing that we...More
Like other reviews have mentionned, the staff is nice, the rooms are large but they really need to be updated. The curtains in my room (with A/C) had large stains, the bathroom tiles are full of mildew, and the paint on the walls is old...More

Hi, good question. There are no safes in the rooms. Instead, they have a wall of wooden lockers at the base of the stairs. You can put your own lock on it, or buy a lock from the staff for 50Baht. On the plus side, there is usually staff at the front desk which is directly in front of the lockers. On the down side, the wooden doors are very flimsy and could be broken with no difficulty at all.
We ended up keeping our essential valuables in the room with us, then moving them to the locker when we were at the pool, and carrying them with us when we were away from the hotel. You may also decide to split your valuables between your person, the room, and the locker... Just so that any single crime didnt wipe you out. Having said that, we didnt have any problems during our stay at SK House 2. Hope this helps.

"Rooms near the back stair-case are much quieter."
