Stayed there 3 nights, April 10-12. It was convenient for us to take the public transport vehicle from...

After arriving off a overnight train it was a pleasant surprise to see such a nice hotel. Nice big pool outside, with very helpful staff (we love them cos they let us check in early, so we...

While the location wasn't great (but easy to get a cheap songthaew to any location in Chiang Mai) the quality of the rooms was really good. We stayed here twice on our trip and (after staying in huts in the jungle in Pai) really enjoyed coming to a hotel which was indoors and had a hot shower! We would definitely...

The (small) pool was well-maintained and being able to swim early in the morning was probably the highlight of staying here. The staff was generally courteous, though they tended to ignore me in favour of speaking to my girlfriend (who is Thai). The location is close to a great food market at the Chang Puak Gate for evening outdoor dining....

We stayed in the hotel on two separate nights and different storeys (2nd and 3rd floors) and found out that each room has different themes and qualities. For the first night, the room was very spartan and basic - there was no temperature control for the aircon, the wifi did not work (only the third storey had the wifi problem)...

So very impressed... 10 min walk to yellow bar, wifi in rooms and decent computer room for free. Unlimited toast, tea and coffee, egg and bacon breakfast for 100 bhat. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. English needed a bit of work (my thai is awful so I can hardly complain!) there was nothing we needed to communicate and couldn't...

We made Chang Puak hotel our base in Chiang Mai after some recommendations by fellow travellers on trip advisor. The only thing I can say is that all the positives I have seen in the earlier reviews hold true for the hotel and most of negatives seem to stem from people having far too many expectations from a hotel with...
