This was my second time coming to Chiang Mai and my second time staying at the backpack house. Both times I loved it. The family that runs it is amazing. They are warm and caring, and extremely helpful. They set up every event we went on for us, including transportation. They went so far as to personally drive us to...

At such a cheap price you get a comfy bed and great hospitality! The owners are so friendly and helpful it really made my stay. The hostel is in a good location next to the Old City and just minutes walk from shops and restaurants. There is no air con in the dorms however there are fans.

This has been the absolutely best hostel I have stayed in on my Thailand trip! This is off course a budget stay. This is made for backpackers. So don't expect a 5 star hotel. What you get is the nicest host with his family! I had a such a wonderful time just sitting in the hostel and talking to John...

We had a great few nights stay here. We turned up unannounced and with nothing booked. These guys acted as tour guides with loads of folders of information to help us plan our next few days from cookery courses to jungle treks. They organised everything and let us use their phone when needed. They held our luggage when we went...

I stayed there during Songkran/Thai new year, so it was a very busy time. The owners were indeed super friendly, helpful and chatty, the location was convenient and the lounge is a good place to make some new friends. However, there's only two or three bathrooms, which is not enough for the number of people that can stay there and...

This was one of my favorite guesthouses on my entire backpacking trip through Thailand and Cambodia for a variety of reasons. First is the wonderful family atmosphere. Tony runs the guesthouse with his wife, which gives Chiang Mai Backpack House a great family vibe. Every night the family eats a big dinner in the lobby, which makes you truly feel...

This is the first time ever I write a review about anything. Thats because this isn't just anything. I have considered this place my home while I was in Chiang Mai area. I have spend about 4 weeks here, in total. I came back 3 times. Where to start, where to start....... First off, the owners: Tony and Oil, are...

The owners are absolutely great and they play a huge part on what made my stay at this hostel a great one. They are very helpful, speak great English and it's nice to just have a convo with them. The dorms were good with lockers for each bed, showers were hot and had good pressure. Wifi was working well most...
