This delightful little guesthouse sits on the banks of the Ping River... It's secluded yet still convenient position makes it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Our room off an upstairs balcony gave us uninterrupted views over a tropical garden and out over the river... Cane armchairs outside of our room meant we could relax and have a...

What a wonderful establishment! We had the most relaxing time here. Everything about this place was perfect. Big spacious room serviced every day by staff that rates a 10 out of 10.The biggest king bed in all my years of travelling. Big coffee cups which the others don't seem to provide. A balcony that allowed you to have a beer...

As a single woman traveler, I value the care and courtesy I received at Galare Guest House. They set up a zipline experience, a cooking class, a trip to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle, and a personal Temple Tour in the city. The staff went out of their way to be helpful in every aspect of my stay.

This is our third stay with Galare and we find it very relaxing and quiet here. The decor is a bit dated, but the beds and pillows are really comfortable and everything is super clean. The location is very close to the night markets and there are lots of options for eating within a few minutes walk. The restaurant here...

when we arrived at reception, the guy had no english so just smiled at us, pointed at a list and handed us our key. the room was long and narrow and was very dated. bed was comfortable enough but definitely use bug spray as the house is situated in a big garden which is pretty to look at but crazy...

This was our third time to stay at the Galare. We have found that it is a great value, well organized and although very modest and plain in decor it is comfortable even for a long stay as everything just works well. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage, there's a small porch outside the room that can be...

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle in a lovely riverside location, the Galare suited us well. The decor in the rooms is very tired....but out bed was comfy and there's tons of space. Good breakfast options. It's a bit of a walk to the old city but so much to see on the way, we didn't mind, and you...

Didn't stay here this trip but we have before and the rooms are excellent value. Great location in riverside near to Governors Mansion. The riverside restaurant is worth a visit - we had lunch - but it appears to be open only til 4.30 pm. Try the spicy salads, they're magnificent and will certainly 'clear your airways'!! Very reasonably priced...

We really enjoyed our stay here. We arrived at 5am but this was no problem, the staff accommodated for us. The rooms are clean with air con and also a fan. It's a very peaceful little guest house and very close to the Night Bizarre which is great. The location is a little off the beaten track and it was...

We paid just over 1000 Baht (£20) per night for a twin. The location was pretty central and it was only 20ish minutes from the airport. The staff were really cheerful and friendly, they also organised our taxi transfers very efficiently. The room had a fridge and a kettle, there was also an outdoor seating area- so pretty decent for...
