Your bartender Ms. Peet( the cute girl ,short hair with lovely smile). She provided the best service for us on our high school friend wedding at your property on 20/01/2023. Her friendliness, gracious behavior and clever conversation made me feel like I want to come back to Anantara as your regular guest. The catering service was great, the wedding was beautiful. Foods were delicious. You have done a great job Anantara Chiangmai team. Special thanks for Front office team for warmest greeting and attentive to our request when we arrived. 2 girls at front desk were fabulous, they deserve compliments. Great job, very very well done.
After questions about whether I could even visit northern Thailand during Covid, restrictions loosened somewhat. My original hotel did not conform to restriction guidelines, so I switched to Anantara. Good choice. I have been to Chiang Mai many times. This hotel is well-located right downtown. Seamless, reasonable round-trip transfers arranged by hotel. Warm welcome with chilled drink by Ms. Korbkul, who remained an ally throughout the stay, addressing me by name anytime I walked through the lobby. Very clean room, comfy bed. Non-intuitive A/C which I accidentally shut off one night causing a swarm of mosquitos to sneak through door cracks and descend. I finally woke up enough and called, and the situation was immediately resolved by engineering staff. Great food, including a stellar view of the river at breakfast. I hate buffets, and was so pleased I could order the few items I wanted and have them delivered to my table. Room service was so professional, including a freezer container for my dessert ice cream that was still frozen when I got around to eating it. Front desk very helpful, including arranging car service (the wonderful Mr. Pong car service took me shopping and to temples on successive days). Good, reasonable spa services. The massage was relaxing and the oxygen facial remediated the sunburn I got in southern Thailand. Best, was the excellent service I received in the afternoons at the outdoor bar tables. The host (why did I not get their name?) quickly learned my name and remembered me each visit. They asked about each day's excursions and made me feel well cared for as a solo traveler. I will be back!…
It's our first time to visit Chiang Mai in winter time and we found it is the best season to visit Thailand if you aren't looking for beaches and suntan. The resort is beautiful and well situated. We stayed in a Kasara garden view suite which has a big balcony and the room is spacious and clean. There is a cocktail and snacks afternoon tea that starts from 5-7pm which is complimentary. One of the staff named BB was so helpful who gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. The breakfast area is located right next to the river so you can enjoy the breakfast and coffee with a lovely river view. The resort offers different classes for yoga and muay thai. However, it was a shame that we couldn't try any of the classes as the timetable didn't fit our schedules.
The building is a stunning architectural masterpiece combining restoration of a historical landmark, modern and natural materials, and making the most out of its riverside location. The buffet breakfast was of high standard, with strong emphasis on Asian flavours to reflect the predominant demographic composition of its clientele. Despite the nice and quiet location, one is not too far off the Old Town and there a few nice places at its doorstep for dining and massage. Staff was courteous and kind. At times, they were a bit absent-minded but not ill-intentioned: forgot a cappuccino order, brought red wine instead of white, gave us the wrong bill at dinner, and sent 3 orders of mango sticky rice (ordered only 1), so one has to keep an eye on that. They arranged a day trip for us to Doi Suthep and the guide (Suri) was fantastic and very knowledgeable.…
A tropical modern architecture, around 15 years old, not sure who is the architect who designed it, looks like the work of the late Western Australia Mr Kerry Hill. Nice rooms! A nice gathering with naturally cooling weather between 13 degrees to 23 degree celsius. It was a lunar new year reunion with my clan of 6 ushering in the year of the Bunnies! 🐰
We were lucky to stay at the Anantara in Chiang Mai during our honeymoon and had a beautiful time. The staff was wonderful and even welcomed us with a special honeymoon rose petal display in our room. The atmosphere at the hotel is so serene, despite being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai — it was the perfect place to relax after a day of sight-seeing. The food at breakfast was delicious, as well as dinner at their restaurant, Bodhi Terrace. And it's just a short ride away from night markets, wats, and lots of other city sights. It was the total package and we definitely want to go back!
So, we stayed at The Anantara for 4 nights but as my partner is disabled we were unable to use this restaurant - you what?!?! Come on, it’s the 21st century and you’re supposed to be a 5 star hotel! I’m sure it’s wonderful to eat on the 1st floor of the old British Consulate, but to only gain entry by a steep double staircase is totally unacceptable. This also applies to their new champagne bar for happy hour etc - we asked to use the staff entrance via an elevator, but this was declined. Stay away from this place if you are in any way disabled - they don’t want you.
This hotel has an incredible design with a beautiful entrance area. The restaurant area is built around the former British consulate and has been carefully retained as if it were a secret service meeting place! It has many lovely touches and it’s well worth seeing. Rooms are spacious with comfortable balconies and the bed pillows were fantastic. The pool is long and there are plenty of loungers and the staff around the pool are excellent. Breakfast is easily the best of all hotels on our trip with items cooked to order as well as a huge buffet selection. Staff are delightful and attentive. It’s a short ride to the old city but is a quiet oasis.
It’s like a zen oasis in Chiang Mai. Incredibly beautiful and exquisite. You feel that it is special from the moment you step into the hotel. Unforgetable breakfasts by the river and amazing swimming pool.
Booked the trip via agoda.com. When i arrive, was welcomed by the staff. Easy check in, every staff in the resort always welcome and smile at you. Food was great and very reasonable. They even surprise me with a bday decoration and a cake! Overall stay was amazing! As quoted by Nas - You only have one first chance to make one first impression that lasts a lifetime and Anantara Chiang Mai did impressed me!
