Duangtawan Hotel is a good hotel that could easily be very good - but isn't. First, the good points: 1. It's location - only a hop, skip and a jump from the night market 2. My rooms seemed to be newly renovated; it was spacious, comfortable and clean 3. The breakfast is very good, served in a big restaurant (no... More

I fully agree with what the majority of other reviewers say: Duangtawan Hotel is in an ideal location for tourists, but the hotel itself is rundown and needs some maintenance. The hotel certainly wasn’t short of customers the week I stayed there in late October. With constant tour buses dropping off large groups of people, I’m sure that this hotel... More

We had a very spacious suite in Duangtawan Hotel which made for a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The decor is a little dated and breakfast in the main restaurant rather basic but there are all the facilities that you need and we had the advantage of use of the 23rd floor which was delightful for breakfast and evening... I won't say much is wrong with this hotel. It is a slightly worn nice high rise convention hotel completely out of place in chaing Mai. The city has a plethora of guest houses and hotels to choose. We booked here and immediately started looking for better. The room was worn the fixtures need updating. The view was nice but... More

Stayed here for three nights when travelling through Thailand. The hotel is coveniently located close to the old city centre and the night bazaars. Unfortunately, the location is just about the only thing that's worth mentioning. Hotel is huge and offers all facilities such as pool and gym. We had a normal room which was not very clean (hairs in... More

When I first entered the room I was disappointed. In the shower I still found hair, overall the bathroom, room and windows were not spottless clean. The furniture is outdated. I really liked the location though and the Pool and sundeck.

I have stayed here several times and consider that the Hotel should start to freshen/update the rooms. The foyer, bar, restaurants, pool, ie public areas are all in great condition, however the rooms are old, musty and attempts to freshen them up has not improved them greatly. (Although removing the carpets for plastic floorboards is good) I have not stayed... More

Stayed for 4 nights last week. I found the room very spacious, Air Conditioning works very well( A must in Chang Mai weather) and very comfy bed. Excellent location to night market only. Warorot Market is about 20 minutes walk. Breakfast is very good with many Western and Asian choices. .However, the bath cubicle is so small that you cannot... More

I've stayed at this hotel twice a year for the last three years. My prior reviews were very favorable. However, I noticed a drastic slide in service and value this last trip. The hotel was incredibly overcrowded. It seemed like the hotel targeted every tour group to stay there. The overcrowding made the limited elevator service intolerable. Often, we waited... More

We have always enjoyed our holidays in Chaing Mai and have even stayed at three other hotels but none compare to Duangtawan for comfort and service. The breakfast is incredible catering for every one's taste.Could not say a bad word about the amazing food at this hotel.
