Having recently returned from the Baan Orapin to celebrate my husbands 40th, we could not have been more pleased with this guesthouse. There are few remaining original Thai houses in Chiang Mai and the Baan Orapin is a great example. Opas, whose family were top business folk in the city, has found a way to open the grounds of the...

We spent 3 lovely nights here. The room was wonderful beautifully decorated and even thoguh near the road we could not hear anything at night. Breakfast had a variety of choices and all cooked to order and delicious. The service was fantastic, it rained overnight and we walked out thinking we would get wet going to breakfast but someone had already...

The place is absolutely charming and so welcoming that you feel more like being a guest at a friend's home (also the place looks like a home rather than a hotel). Rooms are huge, nice and confortable, with great bathrooms. The staff is incredibly nice, the location good (quiet, with busy central Chiang Mai just across the river and the...

Returning for our second time, my wife and I realised why we liked it so much. The front gates deceive what lies beyond, a lovely old colonial house, surrounded by specious accommodation, in a lovely relaxing garden setting, with lots of greenery and foliage, to compliment it. An ideal spot and base in which to explore Chiang Mai and the...

We could not have been happier with our stay at Baan Orapin. The grounds are lovely and rooms were nice and comfortable, but what really stood out was the level of service. Opas was there to help with our every need- he recommended and called to book tours for us and even directed us to the hospital when one of...

We just spent 4 days in Chang Mai at this lovely, welcoming guest house. Opus could not have been more gracious and helpful. Our junior suite was spacious and beautifully decorated. Cooked to order breakfast every morning was fabulous. Location perfect for crossing the river on several bridges. We recommend highly.

Amazing! Stayed at the Baan Orapin to celebrate a friends 60th birthday for 5 nights. When we arrived, Opas (the owner) gave us a quick orientation of the property and Chiang Mai complete with area maps and instructions. Our group of 6 stayed in 3 rooms in the back building. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished, and spotless. Each room...

What more can be said about this peaceful Chiang Mai retreat that has not been said before! Nothing...so I will be brief! My husband and I spent ten nights here in mid January and loved it. We had previously been staying at the other side of the city, but found Baan Orapin's location especially ideal for visiting the vast array...

My husband and I have just returned from 2 weeks in Thailand, 3 nights, BKK, 3 nights CM and 7 nights in Phuket. I wanted to book different styles of accommodation throughout our stay that I thought would work well with the environment we were going to be in. Because CM is more laid back and "artsy" than the other...
