Basic clean hotel, within walking distance to old town, staff very friendly and helpful. The ceiling fan worked better than the air con. Comfortable beds. Wifi connection was good. Breakfast was good and fresh. Value for money. Would stay again if visiting the area.

Oh yes, definitely safe! I would say, be aware of your surroundings (don't be drunk walking back) because you never know who's around, but that's true anywhere. The city is full of tourists and the hotel area is quiet and tucked away from the city. Worst case- take a tuktuk back to the hotel at nihjt. Enjoy your trip !
