We stayed at this hotel for six nights. It’s in a good location within the old city. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not hear any street noise at night. Our package included breakfast which was a good option. Breakfast included a choice of hot dishes, cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, croissants, juice, coffee and tea. The pool was refreshingly cool and there is a small cafe/bar next to the pool. The staff were somewhat friendly although there was one front desk fellow who seemed a little aloof. I think perhaps their spoken English isn’t very strong which might be the reason for this. The woman in the lobby who did the tour bookings was very friendly and helpful. There is a security guard outside. Overall, a good little hotel and gave it four stars. (I only give 5 stars if there is something really outstanding such as exceptional service above and beyond.) We would stay here again if the opportunity arose.…
The location is great: within the old town walls and within walking distance of almost everything. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, although I must have been given the worst room of the hotel, my balcony had no view as it was facing another building… However some parts of the hotel deserve better cleaning! Moreover the staff is really not friendly! They don’t even say hello when they see you! What a difference with the other hotels I stayed at in Thailand! The hotel also misses a bar when you can have a drink in the evening after a good excursion day (the swimming pool bar closes at 5pm!) and a restaurant where you can have a nice dinner, away from the hectic city! There is no spa either… This hotel has no soul! It is definitely NOT a boutique hotel!!!
Very nice hotel. Rooms are well appointed and have everything you need without being over the top. Location is excellent. Far enough away from the backpacker area but everything was still within walking distance. The staff were helpful if anything was needed.
We booked a single night at Bodhi Serne in Chaing Mai after I got a recommendation for it from a friend. As with many of our other Thai bookings, I was a bit nervous since I didn't know a lot about the area. The hotel is amazing. On the smaller side (as most are in the old part of chaing mai), which was good. Good sized rooms, great location, good breakfast buffet, and great staff. Overall I highly recommend this place for anyone considering a visit to Chaing Mai!
Affordable hotel inside Old City. Plenty of massage spas and restaurants around. Great breakfast and amenities. Very quiet environment. Staff should work on, though, with the small flying insects in the breakfast area and some mosquitoes in the lobby.
Very tranquil and relaxing environment, clean, air conditioned rooms with nice en-suites and two calming pools. Great information services for doing tours and in a good location within the old town. Nice place to stay.
Fantastic hotel, has 2 pools, a bar, plenty of space to relax. The rooms are decent size, shower was great too. Room service and cleaners were also fantastic. Only improvement could be the choice at breakfast. All in all this hotel is perfect if your staying in Chiang Mai, it near some of the best places to eat and the main temples. Highly recommend
Location wise : OK location. But old Town is relatively small so basically any hotel could be in a good location. Sadly alot of the surrounding shops at this hotel have closed including 711. There were livelier areas in old Town. Staff: most of the staff were friendly and helpful. But hardly any other than the reception could understand English. Not sure what the norm is in chiang mai as this was my first trip there. Accommodation and facilities: We stayed in a family triple room which honestly looked better in the pictures than in reality. When we arrived the room was made up... But it was dirty. There were dead cockaroaches on the bathroom floor in corners. Spiderwebs on the wall lamps next to bed and the room was full of mosquitoes. I understand outside, but surely only one or two inside. We ended up getting our own bug room gas at the mall and treating the room and bedding ourselves. The room and bathroom was dated and needed maintenance. The bathroom tiles and grout especially needs cleaning. The pool was great and clean and towels were replenished often which was nice. The breakfast was average. They offered coffee, juice, egg, sausage, some fruits and some breads/pastry. Not a massive spread but can understand that there were not many guests. It was an average stay at best, but they charge 4 star rates. I think if you can book this place in a really good discount offer then try it. But personally if we return to Chiang Mai we will try something new. …
What a hidden gem! I am a frequent traveler to Chiang Mai and this was my first visit to the Bodhi Serene. Generally we stay near the Night Bizarre but thought we try a different location and the Bodhi Serene did not disappoint. We stayed for 14 days with a group of family and friends. We had a standard, deluxe and 1 bedroom rooms throughout the group. Each room were spacious and comfortable and were positioned around the hotel gardens and moat. This made the hotel, gave it real personality. The hotel is located within the old city, a stones throw from the Sunday Walking Street Market. There are some amazing local restaurants close by, Dash (our favourite) La Fontana (Italian) and Kat’s Kitchen. The hotel is also surrounded by small bars, convenient stores, street food, markets, massage parlours etc. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend the breakfast, while there’s not a huge selection like a massive hotel restaurant, it had everything from eggs, pastries, fruits, cereals, local Thai foods etc. There are 2 pools and several lounge areas. The main pool is amazing and we were there daily! If you have small children, you might need to check with the hotel as the main pool is quite deep. There are few minor considerations for the hotel: - Add ceiling fans in the The air conditioner in the rooms are quite powerful and at times you just wanted air flow. While each room have doors to open, the water around the moat meant it attracts a lot of mosquitoes. - Ceiling fans in the breakfast area. This area is located outside and Chiang Mai can is hot and humid, especially in the mornings. So ceiling fans would help circulate the air flow. - There were more staff maintaining the breakfast station mid week when there weren’t as many guests, but the weekends were busier and there were only 1 person, who was struggling to keep up. - Everyday we had to ask reception to maintain the towels at the pool. Overall, we very happy with the Bodhi Serene. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!…
We really enjoyed our stay at this nice and extremely comfortable hotel. We booked the two bedroom unit and it worked perfect for our family. Clean, comfortable beds, air conditioning and plenty of space. Along with being comfortable, the service was warm and attentive. The front desk was always helpful (great recommendations on where to eat) and the breakfast staff even made us a special dish on our last day. Our friends recommended this hotel and we would also recommend it.
