I stayed at Peridot Hotel for 4 days and 3 nights, and it truly enhanced my trip. The location is perfect, with major attractions and great restaurants within walking distance, allowing me to explore Hanoi at a relaxed pace.
If you're aiming for a spa experience every day, I highly recommend the hotel spa. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing, with attentive and friendly staff providing an exceptional experience. The breakfast was also fantastic, with a variety of delicious options to start each day on a good note.
The room was spotless and offered an unobstructed view, letting me soak in Hanoi's unique old-town atmosphere. Housekeeping kept everything tidy every day, and the bedding was so comfortable and clean that I felt completely at ease during my stay. (I booked the Grand Deluxe room.)
All the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. Helen, in particular, was incredibly helpful, sharing useful local tips and promptly addressing any minor issues I had. She even followed up to make sure I was comfortable, which was a thoughtful touch. Her professionalism and kindness made me feel right at home.
Overall, this was the perfect hotel stay, and staying here made my trip even more enjoyable. If I visit Hanoi again, I’d love to stay at Peridot Hotel once more. ❤️

Peridot is an absolutely stunning hotel hidden within the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. A welcome escape from the crazy streets. We stayed in the hotel multiple nights during our time in Vietnam, each time in an upgraded room.
The building's interior is meticulously clean and decorated beautifully. Each room we stayed in was incredibly comfortable and the extra added touches were appreciated. We had everything we could possibly need. The claw foot tub in Room 507 provided the perfect relaxation after a long day of exploring the city. Ask to stay on the north side of the building as the rooms closest to the street had a tiny bit of noise.
They had many added amenities which we used such as the spa, pool, and jacuzzi. The rooftop bar provided beautiful views and tasty cocktails. We wish we could have stayed awake for the nightly DJ. The daily breakfast buffet was huge and contained so many options, including Western and Asian choices. The variety of pastries was my favorite part. Make sure to try the danishes with fresh dragon fruit!
The staff treats everyone like royalty and makes you feel special. They spoke excellent English and somehow remembered our names wherever we went. We loved the welcome drinks and apricot snacks while checking in. Lucy took care of all of our tours and transfers. She kept in touch via WhatsApp throughout the trip to make sure we were taken care of and even scheduled a last-minute transfer from Ninh Binh. She deserves an award for her level of hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay at Peridot Grand Hanoi. The entrance to the hotel is amazing! The room was spacious, bed was really comfy & we couldn't hear any road noise. There was also a choice of wine, champagne or spirit glasses, perfect for us. The bathroom was large & probably the best design I have stayed in, also the lighting was perfect, many hotel bathrooms are quite dark. Breakfast had a large range to choose from, complete with egg station. We had happy hour at the rooftop bar each night which had fabulous views. One of the staff Quinn, was chatting to us one night & I asked if there was anywhere we could get bun cha & he recommended Bun Cha Dac Kim which was absolutely fabulous. The hotel is in a great location, so many restaurants & street foods within a short walk, also Train Street is only a 5 min walk so we went several times as day-time & night-time are really different experiences. All the staff are very helpful but Julie at reception was extremely helpful with our requests.

Excellent and comfortable hotel in the heart of Hanoi Old Quarter. We went in mid-September and stayed for four nights with three kids under seven.
Pros: The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Bath robes and comfy sandles are in each room as well as an easy to use lock-box. The breakfast spread was included during our stay and was fully stocked and delicious every single day. They have a nice infinity pool on the roof with nice views. The gym is decent with some weights, a cable machine, bike, and treadmill. Although they advertise gym hours starting at 9AM, I asked for it to be open at 5AM as that was the only time that worked for me and they accommodated me. Just don’t be a meat head and drop weights on the floor or make loud noises that early.
Negatives: Rooms were a little small with our luggage’s and stroller but we made it work. Laundry was overpriced. They charge for each article of clothing instead of just a batch price for a load. There was some sort of announcement that was made at 7AM daily from the city loudspeaker that we could hear. Pool seating was limited with maybe 10 spots total around the pool. There was one day we went and it was just filled with people lounging and not even swimming.

We had a wonderful stay at this 5 star hotel. Located in the midst of the old quarter, you get a chance to feel the hustle and bustle of Hanoi with its crowded streets lined with food markets, coffee shops and restaurants. You enter the Peridot and you immediately feel the welcoming calm. Checking in was efficient. The rooms are large, beautifully decorated, with both a shower and great soaking tub. The rooftop pool with its Ignite bar and restaurant offered a welcome respite from the heat. The main restaurant offered some prix fixe options as well as a la carte Vietnamese and Western dishes. I have to say however that the staff was outstanding. They are well trained and proactively reach out to assist. Seek out Helen from the customer service team. She assisted us at check in, welcomed us at breakfast, quickly took care of a problem in our room and did this all with a smile.

We booked ourselves into a Grand Balcony Suite. The suite was expensive but seemed spacious and luxurious. It seemed well worth it. The bathroom was spacious with a shower cabinet, bath and a toilet (no latches, acceptable to most … perhaps). We didn’t however notice till much later in the day, that there wasn’t any door separating the bathroom with the room.
To many, it may not seem as a big issue but for a family of 4 (incl. 2 young children), only during the course of the day, we realized how impractical this lack of privacy could get. For one, bathroom sounds and smells do travel . Not having a lock is bad enough (and I have stayed, begrudgingly, in some of those hotel rooms even with only my partner) but not having a door at all is something I have not witnessed before. Moreover, having no hooks in the shower cabinet meant that each time one of the adults need to use a shower, the other three members need to go to the adjoining seating area of the suite. And using the toilet or the shower late in the night is obviously ruled out for reasons mentioned above.
I believe the management is well aware of this issue. Their initial solution was to get me a 3 panel folding screen that I could put up between the room and the bathroom. It wasn’t practical as it occupied a lot of space, looked weird and also was unstable. Another solution was to switch rooms which has a temporary curtain separating the room and the bathroom. The management suggested and did what was in their control and I appreciate that.
So for the rating, this hotel would be a 4.5 to 5.0 rating if not for the issue detailed above. Hanoi is a terrific place. Excellent food, great vibe and local guides. The hotel is great. Staff is good. Service is what you would expect from a top-notch property. But we did feel let down by the impracticality of the lack of privacy and the inconvenience. And maybe, this is just a personal choice (and isn’t that what reviews are for?) and for others this may not be an issue at all.
Hence, I am going to go for an average rating of 3.0.
So that would have been the initial rating. But then the staff made it to us and went above and beyond. Isn’t that what a hotel experience is all about?

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Peridot Grand Luxury Hotel. The hotel’s location is excellent, within walking distance of Hanoi’s key attractions, including Train Street and the bustling Old Quarter. Its position on a busy street adds to the charm, and during our visit, the walkway was beautifully adorned with Christmas decorations, creating a festive and inviting atmosphere.
Our room, while a bit small and lacking a great view, was comfortable and well-maintained. The real highlight of our stay was the rooftop bar, which offered stunning panoramic views of the city—a perfect spot to unwind and take in the vibrant energy of Hanoi.
While the hotel is priced higher than many others in the area, we felt it offered decent value for money given its quality, service, and prime location. It’s a fantastic choice for those looking to combine luxury with easy access to Hanoi’s iconic sights.

Ms. Plum and all the staff members, down to the receptionist, door man and cleaning lady was extremely welcoming and make us feel very comfortable. I stay in many hotels around many countries and Peridot was really one of the best I have encounter. Ms Plum was so kind to offer us to go to the spa there to freshen up if we need before we heed to airport. Even when we have checked out and only could go airport at a later timing. The experience was really top notch from start to end. We would highly recommend Peridot and should we go back hanoi, we would not hesitate at all to go back there.

Staying at the Peridot Hotel was a truly delightful experience. Tucked away in a quiet alley amidst the bustling heart of Hanoi, this hotel offers a peaceful retreat. The décor is a successful blend of international luxury and Vietnamese culture, with quality materials and thoughtful aesthetics. The restaurant serves delicious local dishes.
Due to the hotel’s location in a courtyard surrounded by other buildings, rooms on the lower floors may lack a view. While this is understandable given the urban setting, it should be noted during booking. However, the attentive staff offered to move us to another room, demonstrating their commitment to guest satisfaction.
The rooftop, with its pool and bar, offers magnificent views of the city’s lights, perfect for enjoying a cocktail. The concierge service was exceptional, organizing a tailor-made excursion to Ha Long Bay.
I highly recommend this hotel for a stay that combines comfort and authenticity in Hanoi.

Good question - there was a very varied selection of food for breakfast and a big choice of vietnamese cuisine but i can’t recall specific dishes. The hotel was absolutely lovely and a peaceful haven.
