We had a wonderful time staying at Sans Souci II which I booked under the name Hanoi Gecko Hotel. The rooms were lovely, clean and very spacious. The staff were just great, so friendly and helpful. We had booked the airport transfer which was very good. The trip to the perfume pagoda we booked through the hotel was also very...

This hotel is just off a busy road in a small lane that gives you a great night sleep. Staff go out of their way to assist in any thing and everything. We booked direct with the hotel, they organised a car pick up from the airport for $18 which is good value. The hotel also books side trips or...

The hotel is situated in the center of the Old Quarter so the location is obviously great. However the service of the staff was the best feature of this hotel. Some examples: a shower before the night train to Sapa, a very early check-in after we arrived back from Sapa, a call to Hue about the weather and the tours...

My friend and I stayed at Sans Souci for two nights. From the time we arrive till the time we left the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. At our request, they suggested to places to eat, both of which we tried and enjoyed. We were given a map of the Old Quarter that was invaluable as we walked around....

We booked this hotel through Agoda on the basis of all the rave reviews below and we were sorely disappointed. The first thing that had us surprised was the fact that the hotel we were taken to, although it had a sign outside saying Sans Souci II, turned out to be the Hanoi Gecko Hotel. On the basis of the...

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and guesthouses over the years but this one proved to have the most hospitable and welcoming staff I have had the pleasure of coming across! There were too many occasions to mention when the staff 'went that extra mile' but they did and made our few days in Hanoi less stressful and more...

On recommendation, we stayed for 2 nights. The staff were very helpful from bellhop to manager! One of them accompanied me to the morning market just outside and helped me with a purchase of some lotus nuts! I was introduced to a bustling wet market and the type of food stuff on sale in the morning. Unlike expensive hotels that...

We stayed at the Sans Souci 2 weeks ago and found the Australian Manager Nathan a wonderful host for the 3 days we were there. In between he suggested we try a night at Ha Long Bay and that was such a great experience. We were travelling in a group of 4 oldies and yet felt just as important as...

We stayed a few days in the Sans Souci II and were fully satisfied. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff very nice. We had a free cooking lesson (because there was a special when we booked directly over their homepage) where we went to the market to buy the ingredients and afterward we cooked and enjoyed the...
