I generally write positive reviews and am not a fussy traveller when it comes to hotels - I am quite content in a 3 star Asian hotel. This hotel however left a lot to be desired. When arriving at check in I asked about our welcome drink that was part of the deal and written on the paperwork. The young lady refused to provide it so no point arguing so said thanks anyway and went to the room. Despite being non smoking the room and whole floor stunk of cigarettes. The bedding and single thin pillow also stunk. The walls were covered in stains as was the bathroom. The room was filthy. The small flatscreen TV was covered in scratches and marks and so bad you could not see anything. I took photos (which I will attach here) and let reception know. They told me to just watch TV on my phone instead! On a positive note the hotel is conveniently located to everything in the Old Quarter and I had a lovely young man check us out the following morning who helped us communicate with the private driver I had booked for the airport. I would never stay here again and would never recommend anyone to stay here. We only stayed after all this as it was for one night and then we were flying to Hoi An.

The location of this hotel is excellent. In the heart of old quarter, five minutes walk to Hoan Kiem lake. Plenty of eateries in and around. The interiors of the rooms are OK but need some makeovers. The toilets are small and shower system is old. Opt for a window room with street view. The staff is courteous. Breakfast does not have many options.

Didn't have a good experience from this hotel. Checked in and got room number 502. Badly cleaned room, black hair on cheat and floor. Five minutes after check in we had already found and killed five cockroaches in our room (not very big though). Went down to the front desk and complained and later changed room to 702. Didn't found any cockroaches here even though we looked around much. The room was okey, better cleaned than 502. Didn't leave our bags open at any time. Shower was not good too, dirty, moldy and old (in both rooms). You could get so much better for the money. Breakfast was okey, but if you like it clean and no cockroaches I would recommend you not to book this place.
