First thing, the hostel's stuffs are veryyy kind and friendly.
Especially the receptionist lady. (Sorry forget the name) she is very helpful, very generous with recommendation, giving good advice and speak good english!

This is more like a b&b there isn't a common room or kitchen for guests so bumping into other guests is rare. You will met people on the tours to halong bay or sapa. The hanoi hostel will organise those for you and they are better value than the ones on the street. The larger hostels would offer a better chance of being people but they seemed to be party hostels so prepare for noise and drunkenness;)
