The centre of Catholicism in Hanoi is the beautifully dilapidated neo-Gothic, St Joseph’s Cathedral. Built in the early days of the colony at the expense of a revered pagoda that was demolished in the name of France's mission civilisatrice, St Joseph’s opened its doors to worshippers in 1886. Many of the buildings in and around the area were built in the service of the cathedral in the late 19th century. Built as Presbytery House, the hotel was one of Old Quarter’s first edifications of the Cathedral – converted into a hotel in 2002 set the standard for hotels that followed. Ten years later, after undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation, this is Old Quarter’s newest boutique hotel. The original Church Boutique Hotel Nha Tho is a sanctuary of sumptuous dining, and self-indulgent relaxation, on the heart of the Old Quarter.Eco-friendly Operations - Green initiatives have been implemented throughout the hotel including a key card activated energy systems in rooms. Church Boutique Hotel 's Corporate Responsibility is minimize waste and use eco-friendly products is our commitment to promoting our strong position in protecting the environment. A great effort has been put in place to avoid wasting our valuable resources by implementing energy efficiency lighting system throughout the hotel, linen and water conservation scheme.

Ideally situated and a quick walk to Hoan Kien Lake, two water puppet theatres, and countless little cafes. It is surprisingly quiet for being on an active street. I cannot say enough about the welcoming, helpful staff, especially Sunny and Jenn. They are exemplary models of hospitality. The breakfast is good, and there is an excellent Indian restaurant on site. You will have the full Old Quarter experience by staying here.

A lovely stay in this charming hotel. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. The location was excellent with an easy walk to many of the attractions and the hustle and bustle of The Old Quarter. I loved the proximity of the lake for an evening stroll. Although our room was at the front of the hotel there was no noise from the street below. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Lovely boutique hotel right in Old Quarter near Hoem Kien lake and st Joseph’s Church. Staff are amazing, - really friendly, attentive and helpful but also very respectful. Great buffet style breakfasts, with side orders cooked personally. Air con, showers , lifts etc all work properly and despite being in the centre of a busy district ( so convenient for sightseeing) we had no noise disturbances. I’d thoroughly recommend this hotel to my friends and family with total confidence and if we came back to Hanoi, id stay here again in a flash

Great small hotel in a fabulous location. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Lisa and Sunny. The room was quiet even though it looked over busy Nha Toh Street. Breakfast was included… great omelettes and banana pancakes with fresh fruit.

A compact hotel with wide street front that is great for pick up vehicles. Well located near the lake and surrounded by eateries. Quiet room (which was surprising considering it was so centrally located) and a good selection of breakfast. The staff were super helpful in answering our queries from shopping, food to organising a trip to Ninh Binh! Thank you Sunny, Wen, Thomas and your team! Highly recommended.

Perfect hotel right in the middle of the old town, but with a quiet and cosy atmosphere. We stayed here on different occasions. All rooms are nice. Abundance of breakfast choices. The staff is professional, skilled and the most helpful (Lisa!) we have ever experienced.

Really lovely and affordable stay! We both stayed in a twin room and the St. Joseph double room. I highly recommend upgrading to the St. Joseph. The room was large, nice and bright. The location is very walkable and the staff are excellent.
