One of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful hotel I have stayed. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the absolutely great staff at this hotel. The first room they gave us was quite small, so I called the lobby immediately and asked for a room change. They did that, changed us to a larger room. We really appreciated this. The hotel is a block or two away from the craziness of Hanoi, but when you are on the property, it is absolutely tranquil. This is a must hotel anytime you are in Hanoi.

The honeymoon period is over! After dinner tonight about 21:30 and wanted to return to our room for horizontal; waited for about 5 minutes for the lift. When it came down, the old age guy looked like one of the guests stood up and blocked the lift and stopped other guests using it, I asked if I may use the lift, he replied rudely ‘NO’., I said you don’t own it and I can’t be bother and went to another lift. When I got inside another lift, a staff from the front desk asked us to leave as the lift is blocked for special guests. I said how possibly asked us to go when you have not put the sign up, she was very annoyed, so was I. I am not impressed by the management for such instance! Where the delegations/VIP came from that everyone has to lick their axx? What a sxxx! My advice to you is to book the hotel and ensure no VIP (very impolite people) check-in at the same period or you will be treated badly! …

I broke my week stay in Sofitel with a mid week venture to Ha Long Bay. Upon arriving in Sofitel, we were quickly escorted to the check-in service followed with a drink. The check-in was efficient. Our assigned butler made the difference - she was warmth, communicative and very helpful. I didn’t get her name (my regret) but she was also very helpful when we needed restaurant recommendations. We got a corner room on the 7th floor facing the pool. I believe it was the largest room. There is a corner where the bed is located that was quite stuffy. The air doesn’t circulate well and we had to turn down the AC to cool that space. It didn’t help as it faced the afternoon sun. The rooms within Sofitel are rather old but they do compensate with excellent service from the team. My second room was a vast improvement but the windows didn’t have any view. I had lounge services and the team was excellent. They were attentive and always ready to anticipate our needs, and remembered our preferences even on following days. Kudos and gratitude to them. Overall, my experience in Sofitel was effortless. There was something “light” and I knew that I was being taken care of by the team. Thanks again for the excellent stay and I know where I’ll stay when I come back to Hanoi again.…

A fantastic hotel - comfort, service, food, atmosphere - all were first rate. The room has great facilities and a comfortable bed. The food is very wide ranging and tastes fantastic. The pool is very attractive with great service. It’s an expensive stay but a very memorable experience.

+ The location was great, within walking distance to many venues. + Out of all the hotels we stayed at, this was our favourite. + The front office ambassadors were extremely friendly and hospitable. Just wonderful service and attention to detail. Incredibly well looked after by Flower who helped make our stay extra special. The hotel build around 1900 has an amazing history and in the heart of the city, it is the perfect location to head out and visit the sites. We loved it!!!

We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Sofitel Legend Metropol and couldn't fault a thing. This beautiful colonial building situated in the old city was well positioned within walking distance to many attractions that Hanoi has to offer. The service from all the staff we encountered was polished and very attentive. Our suite was elegantly furnished, had dark timber floors and the toiletries provided were of a very high standard. If staying at this hotel it is worth doing the tour which includes the bomb shelter. It really gives an insight into this beautiful hotel's history.
