Good for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
This hotel has got to be one of the worst in Hanoi, I stayed here for a week before moving here. The rooms are dirty and badly furnished and the bathrooms are filthy. The bar and reception area are deisgned with the worst taste I have ever seen. The staff are slow and unhelpful. The food is truly hideous and all this from a 5* hotel!!! Go to the Sofitel Metropole or the Hilton, they are much better places.
The only thing that is good is the pool which is the largest one in Hanoi.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a tour of northern Vietnam. The room was clean and very spacious but the bathroom was a little tired looking in places. The gift shop in the hotel was very small and very expensive and the business centre charge for internet use was quite high, however treatments in the beauty salon were reasonably priced and to a high standard.

Without doubt one of the favourite hotels, I stayed during my time in Hanoi ever!
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by all staff at the front desk. Lyn and Kelvin were extremely friendly and helpful during the check-in; giving us a higher floor room :) We had two beautiful evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience.
The hotel ambience is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the general manager who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!
Thank you, Daewoo Hanoi !!! I will be back again !!!

Beautiful Rooms , Pool and Restaurants were all great. Nearby to Zoo and Lake. A beautiful view from the hotel and opposite the Lotte Dept Store and Landmark.Walk to various shops and massage parlours.

Khách sạn 20 tuổi này đã từng một thời là lựa chọn sang trọng nhất tại Hà Nội. Nay đã phần nào lạc hậu. Trang thiết bị và đồ nội thất tuy được bảo trì và làm mới thường xuyên nhưng vẫn có dáng vẻ của thời đã cũ. ưu điểm chính là chính sách giá của khách sạn khá tốt, có thể do phải cạnh tranh với khách sạn Lotte mới tinh trên tầng 40 ở tháp Lotte bên cạnh. Nếu thuê các phòng trên tầng cao, nhìn hướng hồ Thủ Lệ sẽ có thể thưởng thức cảnh đẹp của công viên, hồ nước. Nhà hàng ăn sáng với thức ăn đơn điệu, bàn ghế cũ kỹ, khó mà nói được đó là đạt chuẩn 4 sao. Bể bơi bên cạnh nhà hàng, nằm ở sân vườn, hơi thiếu riêng tư do quá nhiều khách uống trà, cafe ở nhà hàng bên cạnh và khách đi lại, hội thảo khá nhiều. Dịch vụ tương đối tốt, nhưng thái đô nhân viên lễ tân không được lịch sự lắm (đối với vài khách đến check in mà tôi thấy). Ở sảnh tầng 1 thường tổ chức Hội thảo, các đoàn tham gia rất đông, ồn ào. Khu vực xung quanh rất tiện mua sắm, ăn uống. Tóm lại, tuy khiếm khuyết chủ yếu là ở tuổi đời của khách sạn, và đôi chút buông lỏng quản lý. Nhưng đây vẫn là địa điểm trung tâm, danh tiếng kế thừa từ quá khứ, lại thêm giá khá ưu đãi, xứng đáng là một lựa chọn kinh tế cho bạn.

After reading the other reviews I didn't expect much of the hotel, but I found the room and bathroom both to be large and clean. The breakfast was more than adequate. I was traveling with a group, so the distance from the center was not too much of an issue, but if I were traveling on my own I would want to be closer to the center of Hanoi.

호텔 수영장에서 야외 행사를 자주 해서 엄청나게 시끄럽습니다. 항의해도 미안하다고만 할뿐 밤 9시 넘어서까지 소음에 시달립니다. 호텔 1층 커피숍에서는 흡연도 해서 어린이 동반고객은 담배냄새에 고통스럽습니다.

This five star hotel provides luxurious service. Helpful staff and nice service. The swimminin pool is lovely. Just it may have been built for some years and some structures are a little worn out but not too detailed. The large Lotte Mall is just opposite.

Hi Daewoo Hotel, i'm Jasper Pronk, i wanna say thanks so much for your help that make me a great time in Ha Noi. Luxury hotel with good location and friendly staff. Special thanks to Miss Helen (GRO department), she helped me so much. On the day that i had trip to Ha Long Bay, the tourist company told me ready in Daewoo Hotel lobby at 8am, i waited for driver over 8 am but i didn't see him because i don't have his number phone, i were nervous but Helen came and helped me contact to the company and my driver, although driver came late because of traffic but i had great trip that day. Thanks Helen because if I didn't see you i don't know what i need to do. And i wish i can book the Daewoo Hotel for the next coming. Thanks!
