We flew into Hanoi very late at night and grabbed a taxi to Old Town Hanoi. Like everything else in Old Town, The Golden Art Hotel is thin and tall. It is located in a good spot in Old Town that is not too busy but not too far from the action. I would never recommend using a taxi anywhere in Vietnam - use the Grab App instead. Taxis in Vietnam are horrible. We stayed at the Golden Art Hotel for three nights and then stored our luggage (for free) for another three nights while we went to Ha Long Bay and to Sapa. Jasmine was super helpful. She helped us find some tailors and she even let us take a quick shower one night for a nominal fee before taking the night train to Sapa. She also helped us exchange some dollars for dong and let us get some clothes delivered there while we were gone. The Golden Art Hotel was conveniently located near the Night Market which happens in Old Town every weekend, and was also walking distance to Train Street. Breakfast was included but crazy busy when we were there (there was a large group from India who apparently ate huge breakfasts every morning.) The high heat and high humidity in August was like nothing I have experienced before. I would love to go back sometime to Hanoi - but next time in the fall or spring.

what i really love from this hotel is their breakfast. its not buffet style breakfast but like restaurant style where we just order the menu. i tried their french toast and it is really delicious. their pho is also delicious but some people probably feels pho is to much for a breakfast.
the location is great. night market, hoan kiem lake and many other attraction is reachable on foot or just by walking around. for a busy and noisy neighbourhood like old quarter, this hotel is quite. to bad when i stayed here, there are construction worker next to it, but its doesnt matter because they only working at daytime and guest probably dont stay in the room at that time.
staff is really friendly and speaks great english.

We stayed here for three nights to start our travels, after flying from London (via Dubai). Despite the quite central location, the hotel was surprisingly quiet (for a city) and next to a non-busy road. The staff spoke good English and the breakfasts were tasty and generous, particularly the Pho!
Jasmine was extremely friendly and very welcoming! Before arrival, she was very helpful via the messaging service on Booking.com and provided lots of great tips and advice. She also was very caring when I was unwell for a day and my girlfriend went off to a tour in Ha Long Bay (that sadlyI couldn't join). Jasmine even went out to the local pharmacy to get me some medication and checked up on me. I felt very at home. Thank you, Jasmine 😊

Not what was expected, we booked this hotel due to all the positive reviews but these were way off the mark for us. The lift was out for the 3 days we were there so had to walk to the 6th floor with bags, and then every night and day after.
Breakfast was mediocre at best and this is being polite, we have and night or so on our return journey but will not be spending it here
We booked the honeymoon room and if it was our honeymoon I’m sure a divorce would soon follow. Room was marked dirty and just a basic hostel room so I think it is better to pay a bit more and get a decent room.

The hotel was comfortable, and although the room was on the smaller side, it seems that’s the norm for Hanoi and it did everything we needed. Comfortable bed, very clean room and good facilities. The locations is great as it’s right in the centre but down a smaller side street, so you don’t get the noise and bustle from the main streets, but walk 2 minutes and you’re in the middle of it all again. The staff were so nice and welcoming, and would do everything they could to help. They even provided a map and directions when we first arrived to some of the main attractions and recommended places to eat. They always greeted you with a smile and asked how your day / evening had been. The breakfast was good and served quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in several locations in Hanoï and throughout south east asia and this hotel is definitely the best quality price! The staff went above and beyond to hook us up with the exact plans we wanted. The room was spacious and super clean with an amazing bathroom. The location is perfect, on a quiet alley right next to the busy streets of the old quarter, everything is at a walking distance. I recommend this new hotel 10 out of 10. Thank you again Jasmine for your precious help.

This hotel is very well located if you want to walk all around the Old Quarter of Hanoi. We stayed in two different rooms in the Golden Art Hotel during our time in Hanoi. Each room was quite a bit different from the other (one had a small bathroom, while the second had a huge bathroom.) The building is old/remodeled and full of character, and the rooms were very comfortable. They have an elevator to the upper floors (but not the very top floor). The hotel itself was on a quiet(er) side street. They had a lovely breakfast in the mornings with food made to order.
The standout part of this hotel was the staff - they were incredibly friendly and chatty, and very helpful in providing information about local attractions or providing recommendations. They also have 24-hr front desk staff, which is helpful if you have a late arrival or early departure.

Great little hotel right in the centre of the Old Quarter down a quieter side street....clean rooms, with small breakfast restaurant. Jasmine was very helpful indeed thoughout the booking process and stay and organised our departure transfer to the airport at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much, we hope to come back again soon!

Excellent Pension that I highly recommend. We stayed twice 3 nights at this Inn in the heart of Old Hanoi. The staff is very nice and kind (thank you for the effort to speak French it is very appreciable) and always listening and ready to give advice. We also stopped by the Inn for an excursion to Sa Pa then one to Halong Bay, again very satisfied, especially since the Check-out for the excursions was early in the morning, we were prepared breakfast to take away. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned and clean, we do well. The location is ideal to visit the city without walking too much and despite the bustle outside, the Pension remains very quiet. One without fail for me, if I get the chance I will go back and recommend it around me.

My husband and I really liked our 2 night stay at the Golden Art Hotel. It is ideally situated in the Old Quarter and once you get your bearings everywhere is within walking distance. The reception team were very helpful providing a useful local map and recommendations of places to eat etc. They also arranged a free walking tour of Old Quarter by University Students which was very good you have to pay for their admission to places you want to visit (ancient house), local market, lake, bridge and old train street and we treated them to an egg coffee. Enjoyed locally egg coffee and Ban Chu at places they said to try. Our room was very comfortable and being down a small side street where no cars are allowed so it was very quiet for Hanoi standards. Good choice for breakfast too which is included with omelettes or pancakes cooked to order. Would return to the Golden Art Hotel and would recommend it to others

"A general tip for all the travellers to Vietnam is that they must carry his or her own Black Tea sachets as the practice here is more weighed on Green Tea."
