We had 5 nights here and had a very comfortable stay. The dekux room we had on high level floor was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The staff there were all very pleasant and very helpful to us. They arranged a trip to Sapa for us and let us leave a day earlier than planned and let us use the changed night for when we returned to Hanoi after our trip. The deluxe room is worth paying a little bit extra for as they are more comfortable. The location is great, close to lots of restaurants and shops but far enough away not to be disturbed by thr the music from the bars. Would recommend this hotel.

Best hotel I have stayed for the price that I paid. Location wise cannot be any better. Food and shops all around. The best Pho, Bun cha, Banh mi, desserts and even burgers are just a few steps away.

Hotel staff were excellent and friendly. Rooms are relatively small but comfortable. All basic amenities available. Wifi fast. Hot water was good.

Breakfast is limited but no complaints for the price you are paying.

Rooms are not very sound proofed and the shower leaks water. Only minor problems.

Otherwise, a really remarkable small hotel that puts many luxury hotels to shame.

If you are looking to stay in the old quarter of Hanoi please do your self a favour and stay here.

We had booked The Lavender after our tour of Vietnam to have a bit of an upper class stay. The main difference between the hotels we had previously stayed at in Hanoi the rooms in the Lavender were silent! Hanoi and especially the old quarter is a city that never sleeps, there is constant scooter noise and horns but this hotel has its noise dampening done right.

The breakfast served in the morning is also excellent with a mix of bread, bacon and noodles.

The room we stayed in was really comfortable with a bed big enough to fit three! (or two people assuming the starfish pose).

My wife used the onsite Spa facilities which are more expensive than on the high street (as the time of writing there was a 20% discount for guests which we did not realise at first) but definitely worth it. We really want to give a big thank you to Andrea at reception. My wife had at first gone to one of the high street parlors for a massage, but the massuses was very unwell making her very distressed. She went back to the hotel and Andrea helped her at 9.45pm arrange a massage at the hotel and calm her down.

Overall the service at The Lavender was outstanding and the staff really were first class. Thank you to all the employees for making our trip to Vietnam wonderful. Highly recommend!

Myself and my girlfriend booked to stay here two nights and thought wow, great location and nice looking rooms. When we arrived the staff were lovely, and very welcoming! The lady at the reception was very friendly. However when we were brought to our room we were underwhelmed by the size, enough space either side of the bed for each person and a bathroom. There was no picture of this room on any booking site we looked at for obvious reasons and at €80 for 2 nights we expected a little more. The power also cut out twice, leaving us in darkness for some time. All in all the staff were friendly just very underwhelmed for the price payed and room size.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Lavender Central during our stay in Hanoi. For access to the Old Quarter around Hoan Kiem Lake, the location is excellent. From check in throughout our stay, the entire staff was friendly and helpful. While the breakfast wasn't expansive they did offer noodle soup or eggs to order in addition to various fruits, vegetables, bread, coffee, tea and juice. The room was a decent if not slightly above average size and the a/c was more than sufficient. The hotel was clean and quiet and a very good value for the price we paid. I like staying on Hang Bac as it is central to many shops and of course, Hoan Kiem Lake, but far enough away from the noise and lunacy on Beer Street to ensure a pleasant stay. We would definitely book here again.

For the price I paid, I feel I got atleast 10 times more than that. What a cute and nice hotel right in the centre of everything, yet away from the chaos and noise. Its in Old Quarter and walking distance to everything one would do in Hanoi. The rooms and good for two and has all possible amenities (or even more) you would imagine for a hotel of this level. Being from India, I am used to high level of hospitality even at worst of hotels. But the staff of this hotel exceeded my expectations of hospitality. They are exceptional and will go out of their way to help you and your stay comfortable. They would greet, smile and make you feel comfortable everytime they see you. I have not had such experience even at the best of 5 stars hotel in world. Without a thought, just book the hotel. Mr Long and one more lady at reception were amazing and they surely require special mention. Keep it up guys.

P.S: Visited this in Jan 2020, when it was called as Oriental Central Hotel

The hotel is in a great location and our room was comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. I organised transport to Sapa through the hotel and they only work with the better mini-bus operators, so all went really well.
Hanoi traffic is full on and you need to take care when walking the narrow streets in the old town. The hotel was an oasis of calm, so highly recommended.

Stayed at the Oriental Central Hotel in Hanoi and could not of been more happy with our accommodations. The Hotel is in a great location in the Old Quarter, the staff is wonderful and the free breakfast was excellent. Stayed in a room at the back of the hotel and also in a room in the front by the street. Both were great and surprising little noise from the street was heard. Would stay again and would highly recommend.

We walked in at 11:30pm at night with no booking after checking out of a previous hotel, and they were extremely accommodating. We stayed in a room with an internal window which was fine and probably better in Hanoi where the roads are beep beep none stop. Room was small but modern and clean. We did not sleep that well as there was banging above at 6am but we reported to reception and then it did stop. Lovely staff , friendly , helpful and very good breakfast . Shower also great.

We did laundry here and some bits did not seem that clean but in fairness we did not check it until after we left so I’m sure they would have redone for us had we asked.

Lovely place to stay.

The rooms were small, but quaint, and the showers had plenty of hot water. They offer a complimentary breakfast, which was well stocked with Vietnamese cuisine. It’s located in the old quarter of Hanoi and you are surrounded with 1 million choices of street food.

I don't really "get your drift" but the area is incredibly safe and there are a ton of bars and restaurants around. It's not like anything I have ever seen before it's full of life yet really safe and comfortable. You'll love it, have fun!
