Nice hotel in a very central location but just barely checked those boxes. Room was not very clean and there was no hot water. Weakest breakfast we encountered over our 3 weeks in Vietnam. Staff was not very helpful and forgot to order the airport transfer we requested the night before.

The hotel room is small but fine. The free breakfast has everything you would need to start the day. The decor is a bit outdated but the location makes up for it. You are in between the old quarter, the French quarter, the backpacker area and right next to the lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful, in particular,...

Started my 3 week Vietnam trip at this hotel. We were greeted by very friendly staff, when we arrived late at night. The room we stayed did not live up to my expectations. The room was very small, with hard beds, hard pillows and very bad lighting. The bathroom was not good either. You had to step up a step...

It is a really dirty hotel. The floor looks as though it has never been washed. The walls have black patches. The reception smells. During breakfast I noted the waiters were handling the food with their hands without gloves or thongs. I pointed it out to them and they didn't care they just continued. No tea or coffee was offered.

I stayed New Year's Eve 2015 and loved it. Top notch boutique hotel in a great location. Proximity to both the lake and the old church made navigation around the old quarter (ie. Getting back to the hotel) easy. My room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly.

We recently visited here for some meetings and found the space suited to our purpose. The rooms are ample, the beds Asian-firm, and the service supportive. With a little prodding management arranged some private space for an impromptu meeting gratis which was above and beyond we felt. The breakfast buffet was diverse, ample and tasty, offering flavors suited to Asian...

An unfortunate stop in Hanoi. We were in room 702 (mentioned on Trip Advisor before we now realise). Strange design as a) there is a glass screen for the bathroom so your partner not only wakes you at night with the light but you can also watch them!!! b) the wardrobe is only 10 inches deep (see pic). The loo...

I like the warm welcome, the dog, and the room at the front with the large window. The decor are very nice indeed and makes the room feel large. Our bathroom has a see thru glass. I hope they have a curtain for privacy. And the dog, lovable and cute sheltie as their hotel ambassador named "Sammy"

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The centre of Catholicism in Hanoi is the beautifully dilapidated neo-Gothic, St Joseph’s Cathedral. Built in the early days of the colony at the expense of a revered pagoda that was demolished in the name of France's mission civilisatrice, St Joseph’s opened its doors to worshippers in 1886. Many of the buildings in and around the area were built in the service of the cathedral in the late 19th century. Built as Presbytery House, the hotel was one of Old Quarter’s first edifications of the Cathedral – converted into a hotel in 2002 set the standard for hotels that followed. Ten years later, after undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation, this is Old Quarter’s newest boutique hotel. The original Church Boutique Hotel Nha Tho is a sanctuary of sumptuous dining, and self-indulgent relaxation, on the heart of the Old Quarter.Eco-friendly Operations - Green initiatives have been implemented throughout the hotel including a key card activated energy systems in rooms. Church Boutique Hotel 's Corporate Responsibility is minimize waste and use eco-friendly products is our commitment to promoting our strong position in protecting the environment.
