The Anise is a brilliant stopover in Hanoi. We dropped our bags off on Wednesday and took the train to Sapa. We returned 5am Sunday morning to spend the day there before taking our plane back home Sunday night. It is comfortable, the staff are helpful and it is centrally located. We just strolled into the heart of the old...

On the downside the hotel didn't have a pool but it was a good base for visiting Hanoi especially the old quarter. The room was fine and the breakfast set us up for the day. All the staff were very helpful. In particular they helped me to recover my suitcase which didn't arrive at the airport with me.

The Anise Hotel is situated in the old quarter of Hanoi, a very busy place and not for the faint hearted as regards crossing the road! it is close to all tourist attractions which is a positive. The accommodation was adequate in that it was clean and comfortable. However, the bathroom was in need of an update as the shower...

This was our first stop on a tour of Vietnam. We had a room at the back with little to view out of the window. In Hanoi, that's actually a bonus, as we heard no traffic noise at night. It's a busy and noisy place (but still worth a visit) and this hotel is good value for a short stay.

We visited Hanoi at the end of April. The Anise is on the outskirts of the old quarter, but well within walking distance to all the restaurants bars and things to do. We found that where the anise was slightly outside the main area it was a little quieter and there is a park across the road where locals gather...

This hotel is well tended, the rooms are decent, the reception and hall inviting and comfortable waiting for shuttles, buses or taxis. Very well located not too far from old city and not to far either from the Ho Chi Minh compound. Food was good served on the top floor. I don't recall whether the wifi was good or so...

A clean and remarkably quite hotel in the midst of the bustle of this mad, mad city. Well located for the pedestrianised market at the weekend - a pleasure not to have to dodge motorbikes at every step! The bathroom in our room was a bit tired, but all in all a decent hotel.

We stayed at the Anise when we first arrived in Hanoi. It is clean and equipped with hotel essentials and small toiletries. We stayed in room 806 which was over to the side and noise was not an issue. When we returned for one night we were in room 30?, which looked level into the local neighbours garden and house...

Stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Easy walk to the old quarter of Hanoi (once you learn how to cross Vietnamese roads!) so nicely located. Room comfortable, wifi a bit hit and miss but worked. Breakfast good.

Adequate. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in 901 at the front. For me traffic noise was at times irritating but for a centrally located hotel n Hanoi it was to be expected. Tip... get to breakfast early as they seem slow to replenish after 8.30 a.m. Room 901 dangerous step up into bath!, why not have just a...
