We were offered amazing service and a good room by the staff. Loved the views and the rooms. The breakfast was continental and Asian, and the staff was very helpful. The rooms are large and provide extensive views of Westlake. This is situated about 25 mins from the airport so very convenient and about 15 mins from the Old Quarter...

We stayed here three nights in conjunction with a Uniworld "Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Mekong" land excursion /river cruise. We had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff, restaurants and food selection, and facilities were all as fabulous as you could want. We would stay here again without hesitation and recommend the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake hotel to our...

This is a tranquil hotel set over water. After the vibrant, crowded and hectic (but fun) of the city it makes for a really good escape. There are some good restaurants in walking distance/short taxi and the city itself is very accessible. Rooms are good. the service in the restaurant was patchy but the food was good. The manager explained...

We stayed at this location for 6 days before going on a Mekong river cruise. We were delighted at the friendly attitude of everyone we met who worked there. From the assistant manager, Daniel, to the trainee working the breakfast shift, Yuan. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Robes, amenity kits and breakfast were included. The hotel is located about...

Although the hotel has some positives like location and scenery, overall I was not impressed. We had reserved a over the water room, which we got, but the room had no view of the lake whatsoever (unless you consider about 10 meters of lake, lake view). Yes, we got what we were promised (over water) but I believe that many...

I stayed here for a total of 4 nights but on three different visits including when I arrived, after a visit to SaPa and after a visit to Halong Bay. Left our luggage with the hotel both times we left Hanoi and used a day pack. Rooms are spacious, clean, and a little bit of luxury amongst the noise and...

After a most disappointing stay at the Hilton Hanoi, it was most enjoyable to stay at the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake. Our suite which has panoramic view over the Hanoi westlake was beautifully fitted out, wifi worked and I was able to download my emails, relax and work at the same time. Their Vietnamese restaurant called Saigon has a beautiful atmosphere...

Piecefiul, away from the buzzing city centre yet 10 mins cab ride away. It is a functional 5 star, a little tired in places. Amenities are functional but unremarkable. We have been upgraded to the 'lagoon' view room which was nice. The breakfast had the essentials but could be better for a 5 star.

So, some folks might like being in the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter. As for us, while we appreciate the vibrancy of that area of town, we also enjoy a moment of solitude. I think, other than being a true five star, having some solitude is what sets the Intercontinental apart. The entrance a bit less than "grand",...
