Ibis Saigon Airport hotel is often lauded for its prime location near the airport and the handy shuttle service, making it a favorite among guests with early flights. The rooftop pool and the hotel's cleanliness also earn praise, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
While some travelers find the amenities lackluster and the rooms on the smaller side, most agree that the hotel offers good value and a comfortable stay, despite occasional hiccups with service and room features.

Hotel's Favourite
We only had 24 hrs in HCMC so I decided to stay close to the hotel. It was an excellent decision as the hotel shuttle picked us up and dropped us off very quickly (5min). They were very organised with this as I had emailed them all flight details beforehand. They provided clear instructions on how to find the driver who was there waiting, with a sign with our names. Hotel check in was very quick too. So I would say it’s a 3 star hotel with some 5 star qualities. Yes the rooms are small but the storage spaces were excellent. It sort of looks like Scandinavia style combined with pop art! Now the pool, on the roof with a view of the airport and the town. I think it was fabulous, the water was clear and warm, the frangipani trees were fragrant and how cool to be able to lie in the pool and watch planes take off? I can’t imagine anything this hotel could do more, they also offered a reasonable half day rate so we could stay until our later flight. We even managed the squeeze in a night food tour on motor bikes which was outstanding and you should definitely do the one offered through ‘The street food man’. See my other review. Only other note, most tours won’t pick up from the airport area as it’s too far away. But you can taxi cheaply to their meeting places. I would definitely stay at the ibis Saigon again.

After flying in late in the day from Australia, we decided to stay here then continue on Hanoi the following day, rather than risk a missed connection. The hotel arranged a free shuttle service which was easy to locate and was quick and efficient. You could walk to the hotel if you wanted, but with luggage and the traffic, the shuttle seemed easier.
Our room was a family room with a very big double bed and a bunk bed. There was heaps of space in the room to spread out, and ours was clearly significantly larger than the normal rooms when looking at the evacuation map on the back of the door.
Why then, make the bathroom so so tiny? It was impossible to have more than one person in there at once, and was very difficult to get past the toilet in to the shower. Also, the shower seemed a bit dirty and water leaked from under the door.
But really that's the only negative. The room faced the runway, but was perfectly silent (and I enjoyed watching the action at the airport), the air conditioning worked well, the bed was super comfortable, the blinds blocked out the light well, the staff were lovely, and the roof top pool was perfect for a morning jetlag-busting swim, although little cold.
The room had a small empty fridge, in which we were able to put food to eat for breakfast. The hotel breakfast was very expensive by Vietnamese standards if purchased at the hotel, so try and look for a rate that includes it if you can.
Alternatively, you can entertain yourself by wandering the streets around the hotel before your next flight and find reasonable, cheap, authentic Vietnamese food and a bit of atmosphere, unlike the location of so many other airports worldwide, as well as a range of food options at the door court at the top of the shopping centre next door.
All in all, we'd certainly stay here again if passing through Ho Chi Minh City, especially given the cost of the room was very good value.

I was a bit wary staying at an Ibis but this one was a very pleasant surprise & it’s 4 star. It’s very close to the airport & the hotel offers a free shuttle there & back. The hotel is only about 2 years old. It is very funky and modern in its design. On the open air roof top, with great views, is a big swimming pool, sauna & a bar. On the lobby floor is a 24 hour bistro where breakfast is also served and a seperate Starbucks.
For just an additional US$25 per night I upgraded to a studio room which was on the top floor overlooking the airport. Rooms are soundproofed with blackout curtains. It was a much bigger room than a standard room & it had a kitchenette with a seperate lounge room & seperate bedroom with a very comfy bed. There are 50 TV channels to choice from and fast free wifi. If you want somewhere to stay near the Saigon airport don’t hesitate booking into this Ibis.

I stayed at iBis Tan Son Nhat airport in several occasions when visiting/doing business in Vietnam. The hotel is very close to the airport. The free shuttle can pick you up or drop you off every half an-hour. Staffs are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good with many selections. It is however a little far from the city center, e.g. Ben Thanh market or District 1. There are mosquitoes in the lobby area and around the check-in counters. If the hotel management can spray more often, that would be much better for the guests and check-in staffs. The room is small, but if one only needs a bed for a night and will fly out early next morning, this hotel would serve your needs. The hotel also offers free parking if you happen to have a motorbike. I would recommend and definitely will come back to stay there.

We stopped overnight after a long flight from the UK . We were flying early morning to Phu Quoc and we also had an overnight stop on our return from Phu Quoc before our long journey back to the UK. Great pick up and drop off service, very close to the airport. Rooms were very comfortable, perfect for an overnight stop, had everything you needed, tea/ coffee making facilities, toothbrushes, toiletries etc. We loved the roof top bar and swimming pool with fantastic views of the airport and surrounding city. We ate at the roof top bar, top class food. The staff were so friendly and we will definitely stay here again if in transit through Ho Chi Minh airport.

We really liked this hotel and stayed here on two separate occasions. The rooms were fairly basic Ibis rooms but were well laid out with a comfortable bed and quiet despite being steps from the airport. The restaurant on the main floor was open 24 hours and the food was quite good and very reasonably priced. The best part of the hotel was the rooftop which had a bar, pool, gym, and tv room - all very good facilities with great views. Also a great happy hour. Highly recommend this hotel if you have to over night in Saigon.

Like many fliers arriving to HCMC in the early morning hours (1am) we needed a place to crash before our connect flight to Cam Ranh in the morning, so we chose this hotel due to the good reviews. For an overnight stay this hotel is fantastic. The pickup after a long visa wait was super easy, the check in quick, the room was actually surprisingly spacious and very clean and modern, and the clean walk-in shower with good products was very exactly what we needed after 20 hours of travel from the U.S. On top of it all there is a Starbucks in the lobby as you begin your transition into eating Vietnamese food! Highly recommend this for an airport stay.

It was our last night in Ho Chi Minh City and we wanted to be near the airport for an early morning flight. Even though you can see the runway from the roof top bar, there is no noise from all the take-offs and landings. Our room was small but perfectly adequate, and the mattress and pillows were the most comfortable we encountered during our whole trip to Vietnam. We had a good meal in one of the hotel restaurants and, after a good night's sleep, were transported by the free shuttle bus to the airport early next morning. Very friendly, English-speaking staff.

🏨On our first day of travel, we wanted to rest and take in the view of HCMC. We booked a room at Ibis Saigon Airport for RM 237/night, mainly because it was convenient - free shuttle service from the airport, simple modern contemporary designed rooms, and most importantly a lovely infinity pool overlooking HCMC and the airport. The room was cozy and neat. I particularly loved the pool, where Michelle and I spent a few hours taking in the view.
🍞Street food was everywhere! We had to something similar to 'goreng pisang', but instead of it being a whole banana, they mash up the banana to paste. It was AMAZING. We managed to get some vegetarian Bánh mì, a delicious-tasting Vietnamese baguette sold at roadsides. And their fresh juices, including the Passion Fruit juices, are really affordable and not be missed!

A great stopover hotel, right across the road from the airport Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City.
The rooms are small but very well stocked with water, shampoo and shower gel and small amenities kits like toothbrush & razor. There are also slippers provided (which are also perfect for your flight if you take them with you). The room is nice and quiet, and with the curtains drawn, it’s nice and dark, even during the day.
There is a Starbucks downstairs, as well as a cafe which we didn’t visit, but seems to do quite a good variety of hot meals. There is also a 7-Eleven a short walk away where we bought cold refreshments and a huge variety of local eateries and street vendors.
The main draw card for us was the pool and restaurant on the roof terrace. The area has an amazing view of the surrounding area and the food was lovely, with quick service. On our first visit (December 23 on a stopover on the way to Australia), I had a refreshing beer and shared fries with my daughter. On our return (to UK, January 24) visit, I had the club sandwich, which was huge and delicious, while my daughter had fries. The pool has a great view across to the airport so you can do some plane spotting. The price of the food is extremely reasonable, with main meals being only the equivalent of a couple £.
We didn’t travel into the city, as the length of our stopovers didn’t really allow us to, though other guests mentioned that it was only a 20 or so minute taxi ride to some Ho Chi Minh City attractions.
There was only one issue I had with the hotel, and that is to do with the transfer to the hotel. Good instructions are given in relation to where to meet the airport representative. However, on both of my journeys, we were told we would have to wait for only 10-15 minutes, however, it was closer to 30 minutes. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a huge issue, but in the humidity, and after a long flight, it was a little frustrating. You can actually see the hotel from the airport, which further frustrates things, but the roads are extremely busy with untrustworthy crossings, so I wouldn’t recommend walking, especially if you have luggage and/or children.
Despite that, I would throughly recommend the hotel.

Sorry
Hi.. we had a similar layover at SGN airport and stayed in the ibis hotel.
Yes we applied for and received a online visa.. this is mandatory to exit the airport.
We had some small issues re- entering the airport security (passport checks) as our layover was only 6 hours
After a quick Google search, using the following search terms, “connecting rooms Ibis Saigon airport,” I was able to learn that, indeed, the hotel does have connecting and adjoining rooms.
Further, I messaged one of the staff at the hotel and got this response, “ Yes, they have. But usually not open to sell. You can request by sending email to Reservation team.
They usually call it Studio Queen. It’s two standard room. One is living room, 1 is bedroom. You will have 2 bathrooms.”
When I was there it was open. I assume it is open 24/7. Towels and water were provided.
Yes, if you contact them in advance
