Situated at the heart of the city, Eden Star Saigon Hotel is celebrated for its prime location, a stone's throw from various markets and attractions. While the grandeur of the lobby and spotless facilities receive high marks, opinions on room quality and amenities like the pool diverge, with some guests finding the rooms outdated and the services inconsistent. The staff's attentiveness stands out, although there are occasional lapses in service. As for value, guests are divided; some regard the hotel as a comfortable stay with competitive offers, while others are less impressed with the cost given the noise level and room issues.

In the bustling metropolis of Saigon, the Eden Star was a four-day stop on our dream honeymoon through Vietnam.
When you arrive, you experience an impressive, overwhelming entrance hall and you can't stop being amazed! Guests are given a warm welcome with a drink and local delicacies and you simply enjoy the relaxed check-in. Polite and courteous staff at reception who really greet their guests from the heart and not only verbally assure them that they are doing everything to make the guest feel 100% comfortable!

Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with our room because our tour operator, who had actually organized everything (!) perfectly, had booked the room incorrectly. We had paid for the Premium Deluxe category (our documents also showed this room) but were given a relatively small standard room. If you had only planned for one night, this room would have been fine. However, we wanted to stay 3 nights at the Eden Star and for this reason we contacted reception. Here we met Sahra, one of the considerate employees in the reception area.
Sahra was able to explain to us why we were staying in a standard room...our travel agency had unfortunately made a booking error. She helped us to contact our tour guide very kindly and without any rush and took the time three times (!!) to clarify and understand the matter for us. She also assured us that she would have liked to give us an "upgrade", but that the hotel was unfortunately fully booked.

Theoretically, the matter would have been clear and settled for everyone from that point on: a booking error - caused by the tour operator...bad luck for the guest.

But far from it! It is not without reason that the Eden Star Saigon has - as already mentioned - committed itself to the absolute personal well-being of its guests as its top priority! While we were still enjoying a refreshing drink on the open-air terrace on the upper floors, Sahra came back to us, beaming, and told us that they had discussed things with the manager and that they would provide us with a new, larger room free of charge, although not on the same day, but the next day. So when we came back from our next day trip, our suitcases would already be in the new room!

Goosebumps! What service! We were "gobsmacked"! We really hadn't expected anything like that! Just imagine! Once again, a particularly heartfelt thank you for this great service!!!

But it's not just in terms of this extraordinary willingness to help from the Eden Star team that you can read our unreserved recommendation for this hotel here. We were also impressed by the hotel's ideal location, which meant we could even experience the busy and restless, colorful and bustling city with its very special history on foot at night.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to the entire team at the Eden Star Saigon! We will have fond memories of our time with you! Best regards from Heiko and Kati

Stayed here for 4 nights in a panorama room, have to say the room was large, clean and comfortable. All bedroom doors could benefit from soft closers, as there was a lot of door slamming, especially from house-keeping. Afternoon tea was included in our room rate, as were soft drinks from the mini bar and breakfast. The breakfast was okay, a little lack-lustre in presentation and quantity. Most mornings we needed to ask for at least one food dish to be replenished - not a problem but unnecessary. Dinner choice basic menu on 12th floor near pool was acceptable, guess there is more choice in the city. Overall a good stay in HCMC.

Saigon was the last stop on our trip to Vietnam and we wanted to treat ourselves by staying in a higher standard hotel. We had booked a suite and were finally upgraded to an even better suite on the top floor. The view of the city, even from the bed, was superb. The furniture is, however, a little old and the hot tub had a leak (in fact, it was difficult to fill because the water pressure was low). The room advertises a mini bar included in the price, but don't expect more than two beers, two bottles of water and/or local soft drinks; The breakfast room is large, the buffet well stocked and the atmosphere acceptable. We used the swimming pool which was quite a nice space. We were also entitled to tea time included in the price, which was a pleasant moment (coffee, sparkling wine and small pastries) while we prepared for our visits the next day.
In the room, we spotted small insects running on the furniture (mini spiders?). This was not disturbing in itself, but it should not be the case in a hotel of this level. We reported this to reception when leaving the hotel, the staff were very apologetic, telling us that we could have called their cleaning staff at any time however. However, to compensate, they organized and offered us the transfer to the airport, which was a small gesture much appreciated.

So disappointed, we have spent the last 3 weeks travelling across Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Unfortunately the worst hotel was also our last. No hot water, very poor room servicing/cleaning (towels not replaced or even just re hung, glass wear left dirty) breakfast food average and no fresh juices, all sugary mixes, service at breakfast seemed to be staff just chatting to each other. This sounds harsh but the most expensive hotel (which looks impressive from the lobby and pool) was so noisy, in the corridors you can hear every ones tvs through shut doors and conversations in corridors are like people are standing in your room, if you want quiet sleep stay else where. My reviews of Laos and cambodia to follow , all other hotels much cheaper and service in the other places much much better. Finally, mini bar is 2 beers, 2 waters and 2 flavoured waters! That’s it.

The hotel is located in a central location.
There is a small pool on the roof, however we felt that there were not enough sun beds/seating around the pool.
The rooms are a little dated but comfortable.
The staff are very helpful.
Breakfast was buffet style with an egg station.
The rooms are quiet so little or no traffic noise.
Would recommend.

A poor start to our stay with not hot water to the shower and taped up tile trim. Both issues were quickly resolved when we advised Reception staff and we received a bowl of fruit as an apology.
The bathroom linen was plentiful and fluffy, bed was firm, a complimentary beer in the minibar and BBC on TV.
The breakfast buffet had a good range of foods with plentiful coffee (but why are hotel toasters always turned down so requiring 2/3 runs)
Staff friendly and efficient.
A great location meaning you can walk to the market without facing too much of the challenging traffic.

This is a very cost-effective four-star hotel located in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. It is strategically located within walking distance of Pham Ngu Lao Street and surrounded by grocery stores and supermarkets. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel has complete facilities, especially the swimming pool on the top floor, which is very suitable for family travel or business trips. The front desk staff of the hotel is also very kind and enthusiastic, and a welcome drink will be served when checking in. The hotel breakfast is very rich, including a variety of hot dishes, cold cuts, various breads and pastries, fresh fruits and drinks, etc. It feels great. Every time I contact Yên Chi from the hotel reservation department to book a hotel, this lady is very patient and gentle in voice, and I am very satisfied with her service.

Good hotel. We swam in the pool every day with no issues although getting bar service was quite the process. Location is walkable to a bunch of restaurants, mini marts, markets etc. As with most hotels in Vietnam they only want to give you one key card and if you do get a second one and leave the aircon on, they will take it out while servicing the room. Really odd
